It was a sunny Saturday afternoon, I had had a long night last night so I slept in today. It was a nice lay in and I have nothing to do today, so what the hell. I really enjoy having a lay in, and after last nights events, I sure as hell deserve it.
Last night was my 18th birthday, and I had a ball, literally. It was a dress-coded party, so everyone had to dress up all fancy, like a Cinderella ball, it was beyond phenomenal. But, today I'm paying for last night, with a pounding headache, which I'm not exactly enjoying right at this moment in time.
I think about rolling out of bed and get ready, but I decide against it. So, instead I roll over and grap my phone from my bedside table and check the screen. 3 missed calls and 12 text messages. What the hell, seriously? I also notice the time, 12:46 in the afternoon, oh no.
I really can't be bothered to co-operate with anyone today, or even socialise for that matter, but I better text everyone back to say thank for coming last night.
Once I text back my friends, I have one text message left to reply to, but the number isn't saved in my phone.. The text says, "Thank you for a great night last night Emilee, hope you get home safe. I'll call you in the morning."
I honestly have no idea who this is, so I simply reply,
"Thanks for coming. Think some numbers have been deleted from my phone. Who is this again?",
I feel really awkward asking who it is, but I can't carry on a conversation with a complete stranger who's number isn't even saved.
I decide to shower while I wait for a response from this unknown number.
The shower is boiling on my skin as it soaks in and relieves me of my dreadful hangover, also clearing my head, simply blissful. I don't want to get out of the shower because I know the cold air will hit me as soon as I do.
When I decide to get out a few minutes later, that's exactly what happens, the freezing cold air hits my boiling hot skin, making my skin burn in pain from the drastic temperature change. I quickly wrap a fresh, warm, towel around me, another wrapped around my head, and run to my room so I can quickly dry off and get changed into some warm clothes.
I haven't really got anywhere to go today, so I decide to wear something casual. A woolen jumper, skinny jeans and white converse, perfect, also, nice a comfy.
Lucky I decided to change when I did as I hear a knock at my apartment door. I quickly tie my wet hair into a bun on top of my head and answer the door. As soon as I open the door, all I can see is a boquet of beautiful and very colourful flowers with a bright orange balloon sticking from the top with swirly writing on it say, "Happy 18th Em", I isntantly smile, but I'm also a little confused as to who these could be off. I sign for them a few minutes later after examinating them and the delivery guy let out a little cough. Maybe he got a little annoyed at how long I took to notice him. Oops.
Once I get back inside my apartment, I read the little card that came with the beautiful flowers, I open it only to read, "Happy birthday beautiful, hope you have a great day. All my love, H. xx"
I begin to blush, but I'm still pretty confused at who these are off. Before I can get into deep thought, my phone buzzes, indicating that I have a text.
I rush over to my phone, pick it up and read the name before unlocking my phone. It's the unknown number.
"I haven't really given you my name, I'm Harry. I did introduce myself last night, but we were both a little drunk. I hope you don't mind the flowers."
I instantly smile at this text, I don't even know why, I can only vaguely remember the boy who is texting me, but from what I remember, he was pretty cute, and lovely to talk to.
My phone buzzes again letting me know I haven't replied to the text.
"Hey Harry, I sort of remember you, sorry. They are beautiful, thank you for them."
Before I can even turn around to walk off to my room to fdry my hair, my phone buzzes again.
"You're very welcome. How about that dinner date you promised me last night? I'll pick you up, your choice of place."
Did he actually just ask me on a date? Yes, yes he did, and I just squealed like a school girl, oh my.
I think about what I should reply before making a fool of myself.
"Considering I have no plans, and I'm dying to put my mind at rest about your appearence, that sounds like a plan, I don't mind where we go, surprise me."
I think I'm getting a little nervous. What the hell am I supposed to wear? Lucky I woke up when I did considering it's already 4 in the afternoon, also, lucky that I washed my hair too.
I check my phone one last time before strolling off to my room to pick and outfit for my date.
"Great. I'll pick you up at 7. I'll text you later for your address. See you soon. H. xx"
I don't bother to reply otherwise the conversation will go dry and awkward, and I don't want that to happen if I'm going on a date with him later on tonight. Wow, today's events has turned pretty well. He already has the upper hand by impressing me with flowers, what will be his next move?
I go to my room to start to get ready, and stress about an outfit. First, checking the weather to see if a dress is appropriate or not.
