Ch. 8-"The Discovery of Eddy Greene."
Despite many thoughts now squirming in her mind, nothing could keep Natalie from enjoying her favorite holiday, Christmas! In fact the entire group was getting into the holiday spirit, as shown on Monday of the last week of school before Christmas break. Natalie was walking to the usual spot the group hung out before class, sporting her favorite blue Christmas sweater with the nativity scene knitted into it. "Hi guys, can you believe this is the last week before break and Christmas?!"

"Well someone's certainly perky," Emma observed her friend's attitude with a little smirk.

"I'm guessing Christmas is your favorite holiday?" Liss asked derogatorily.

"Umm, and it's not your favorite holiday?!" She answered the question with one of her own, in a shocked tone.

"To be honest Nat, my personal favorite is Halloween. The only time I can walk around with a mask and not get arrested or killed." Emma stated matter-of-factly.

"Y'know, unless you're wearing one of those clown masks." Liss responded.

"Tell me about it, totally ruined my costume this year!"

"Moving past that... yes Christmas is my favorite holiday. It's the birth of Jesus Christ, spending time with family, the food, the music; even the presents and giving presents, it's all just so wonderful!" Natalie said with a squeal. Her other two friends simply smiled seeing the girl so excited about something. All of a sudden the heard a grunting noise and turned to see Benji limping towards them with a Santa hat pulled over his face. "Benji, what happened to you?!"

"Well I decided to try and invent something: a mistletoe hat," as he said that he gestured to the broken wire with a mistletoe hanging from it. It appeared to be attached to the hat. "So I walked up to this guy in my Geometry class but he's taller than me so I hit him in the face with the mistletoe. Then his freaking girlfriend shows up; didn't even know he had one, and let's just say she got pissed and clobbered me. Only a little though," he finished his story.

Emma just rolled her eyes, "Yeah Benji, there were some holes in that little plan of yours. For one, you never considered the possibility your first design might not be perfect; but the biggest blunder was probably not checking that the guy was actually gay."

"I know right!" he merely sighed, "So either I redesign this thing or only go for guys shorter than me."

"And maybe make sure that they're gay," Liss said with eyes narrowed.

"Waddup my friends, Benji you look different! New haircut?" Eddy cheekily said flashing his favorite smirk he always used for Benji's antics.

Benji just growled in aggravation, his face turning the brightest shade of red. "Ya know what Eddy, why don't you just shove a candy cane up your snow white-"

"Okay boys, that's enough. Eddy stop mean to Benji. Benji, stop being such a butt hurt dumbass." Emma said putting an end to the argument.

"Okay Mom," they both answered at the same time. "Anyways," Eddy started as he pulled out three pine-tree-green envelopes. "You're all officially invited to my annual Christmas Eve party at my house," handing an envelope to each member of the group "and I hope to see you all there."

"Will there be eggnog?" Eddy nodded his head, "Count me in!" Emma exclaimed.

"Same here, I'm game for a party." Liss said with a shrug of the shoulders and a small smile.

"I guess anything's better than spending Christmas Eve with my family." Benji joined in.

Eddy smiled and looked over towards Natalie "What about you Nat, can I count on you to join in?" he asked sincerely.
