Ch. 9-"Regression, Human Nature."
Over the course of the next few weeks, everything seemed to drag on slowly and painfully, especially for a majority of the teenage population stuck in the mind numbing school system. Except for Natalie, who's life was at an all time high and couldn't be happier about it. Over the break and everything after that, she seemed to be enjoying both getting to know and just spend quality time with Eddy, who now pretty much labeled themselves as a couple. However despite being extremely happy, there was still a tinge of guilt that creeped up on her every now and again. She still didn't enjoy lying to her parents, but at the same time she feared for what would come if she told them her recent discoveries and new world views. While she loved them and she knew they loved her, she soon learned with her friends that some people aren't susceptible to change. Her parents were very strict with following the religious doctrine, and she knew they more than likely wouldn't take well to her practicing those rules loosely, lying to them, and especially dating Eddy. As much as she tried to completely push it out of her mind, it still plagued her and at the most random times.

"Nat baby!" Eddy playfully called the girl out of her thoughts wrapping his arm around shoulder, though uncharacteristically fake-pouting when she flinched away. "Awww, come on baby, we haven't been dating for two months yet. Don't tell me I've already managed to do something wrong," he whined.

Sighing she looked at him with a face of merry exasperation. "Eddy, other than calling me 'baby' in public, you haven't done anything wrong. I was just thinking about something."

"Weeelll..." he trailed off as he managed to use his teenage strength to pull both her and her chair closer to him. "I was hoping you were thinking about me, the homecoming game, and the dance right after."

She faked a sigh and rolled her eyes, "What exactly are you playing at mister?"

Getting so close to her face that they could both hold a magazine in between their foreheads, he whispered "I was hoping you'd be my personal cheerleader at the basketball game and my date for the dance, will ya puh-lease?!" He asked as he batted his long eyelashes while smiling brightly.

"Hmm," she pretended to consider it. "Not sure, I'll have to get back to you on that."

"Ugh, what am I gonna have to do, beg?" He groaned. However despite kidding, she returned that statement with a little smirk playing on her lips as she just nodded. Groaning even more he got up from his seat, got on both knees in front of her, clasped his hands together, and asked in his most pitiful voice "Please Natalie! Please go with me to homecoming, I'm on my hands and knees for you!"

"Alright, alright stop it. Yes, I'll go with you," she bent down and kissed the tip of his nose. "Here's on more for being really cute," she kissed him briefly on the lips as he rose up.

"Aww," Emma cooed at the scene.

"Couple goals," Liss simply shrugged but lightly smiled nonetheless.

"Ugh, give me a break!" Benji exclaimed and gagged, but not without Emma punching his shoulder.

"Leave them alone Benji. You're just salty because you can't get penis to save your life," she glared him off.

"Anyyyways guys I pretty sure lunch is over," Natalie tried to break the awkward tension. With that being said they all left and made their way back to class. At the end of the day she went back home and convinced both of her parents to let her go to the school game with Emma, and her aunt would be picking her up from her house. As she was about to slip on her dress shoes, she was suddenly tackled to the ground. After recovering, she looked up to see a smug looking Emma perched on top of her back.
