8) Secrets

*Chloe's POV*

The second movie finished and Tyler and Jenna decided to go home "Josh come on get your things we will call a taxi for you" Tyler said Josh went and grabbed his bag from the guest room "Hey I'll drive you guys" I offered. We got into my car and listened to my playlist as we made our way. Ode to sleep came on and Tyler just laughed "Oh man I love this band!" I forgot this was their band because I just can't believe my best friends are in a band I quickly turned it of and put some Panic! on. I was so embarrassed ,"Thanks for the ride!" Jenna said as they left it was just me and Josh he sat up front with me.

"Hey I'm hungry and I have no food at home" Josh said looking at his phone "and.... there is a taco bell around here so.... what do you think?" I made a left turn and we arrived at Taco Bell. We got out of the car and headed inside Josh held the door for me "Ladies first" I walked in "Well of course!" we said in British accents. We ordered and sat down "Wanna go back to my place?" Josh suggested because it was very crowded and I think he could tell I was uncomfortable "That'd be great". As we were walking out of Taco Bell Josh was stopped by two teenage girls "OMG YOUR JOSH DUN!!" one screamed "Can we get a picture?!" the other one asked.

I didn't know they were that famous!! I took the picture for them they thanked us and we headed to the car.

Josh offered to drive so as he was driving I searched up on my phone the name of their band I immediately saw how famous they actually are. I was scrolling through so many websites about them in amazement. I gasped when I saw that one show they are playing is sold out ! I checked the tour dates and noticed that they are going to travel around the U.S for 4 months, I read it about 3 times "Josh? When were you guys gonna tell me?". Josh looked confused "What?" he said as he parked the car "Tell you what?".

"That you guys are gonna be gone for the next 4 months?!" I said practically screaming his face dropped and he quickly looked away from me "U-uh we uh were gonna tell you we just didn't know how you were gonna react and I'm guessing not well?". "Josh I'm not mad I'm proud ... look everything is sold out! I just I wish you guys would've told me" I said pulling him into a hug.

"Chloe awe your crying" He looked up at me and wiped the tear "I'm so sorry" he looked into  my eyes "Are you okay?" I opened the car door "Yeah I'll be fine lets go eat" I said obviously lying my two best friends are playing sold out arenas how am I okay?!

We headed upstairs to his apartment, it was so... empty it had no home-ey feel to it. I've never been over to his house before ..... yeah I know right 1 year of being friends and this is my first time....It's just that Josh likes Tyler's or my house he always complains how empty his is and now I could see why he was complaining. We sat down on the couch and started eating we just "argued" over which flavor of lollipop is the best... you know usual conversations between me and Josh.

"So are you doing anything for New Years?" he asked taking another bite of his chalupa  I looked at him and laughed "Do I ever do anything besides work?" he smiled "I guess not.....well hey I'm going to a party wanna come with?". I awkwardly smiled because I don't do  great with people I have social anxiety and parties don't really help "Yeah sure!".

God damn what did I do? Why did I say yes?

"Wow I didn't think you were gonna say yes! You know cause your a workaholic" he nudged my elbow and chuckled. I am only working hard because I want to save up for school and I'm so close!

"I'm in the mood for a scary movie...... what about you?" I said with puppy dog eyes because I know he would say no. "Ugh you know I'm a sucker for puppy dog eyes! fine the blankets are in that" he said pointing to the ottoman. I turned off the lights sat down and Josh threw the blankets on us.

We decided on Saw 1, I don't usually get scared but during one of the jump scares I got so scared I practically jumped on top of Josh. But he didn't say anything about it he just held on to me and didn't let go, It felt nice being in someone's arms again. Through out the entire movie I just laid there in his arms.

"What are we doing?" I thought "is this was normal single best friends do?"   these thoughts lingered in my head for a while until the movie finally finished. We sat there in a comfortable silence for a while, Josh broke the silence "Well I'm never gonna sleep again" I cracked up and got up "Yeah me too! Well it's so late I should be getting home" I grabbed my jacket he stood up "You sure? you could crash here I mean you let me stay in you house for a while....and I could use the company". "Josh....I have too anyways I'll see you tomorrow before the party right? Goodnight!" we hugged and I was on my way home.

The whole time I just kept thinking about us cuddling and always fooling around I really like Josh I've liked him even when I was dating Michael but I always put my feelings to the side but now we are both single and.. no he could do much better what am I saying?
