We got a train and put the car on it, and then we flew home.
The day we left was the third, and now it's the forth.
We didn't get home until nine, and I was exhausted and Owen fell asleep in the back of the car we rented, so we went home and I got one of the cars and followed Shane to drop the rental off, and then we put Owen in our car and drove home, and Shane put Owen to bed and I just kinda stripped down and went to bed, and Shane went to the store to get food for today.
I wasn't expecting anybody to show up to our house for the forth.
But everybody did, except for Alyssa, Camilla, Madeline, and Aleena.
All the guys brought the kids, and they kept apologizing to me, and I keep telling them it's fine.
Now we're all sitting around the back patio table, staring at the cake.
"It's right there." I say. "We could just do it."
"Let's just do it." Shane says.
He picks up the knife. "Wanna do it?" he asks, holding the knife to me.
I cringe.
"No, I'm nervous. You do it."
"Alright."
He cuts into the cake.
Everyone is quiet, recording.
I'm nervous, holding my breath.
He cuts out a small piece, and then he pulls the knife out.
We can't tell.
He picks up the piece, and it falls a little.
A small chunk falls out onto the table.
"Is that..." I sit up.
He lifts out the entire piece.
"It's pink!" I shriek.
We all start screaming.
Mrs. Beckett is crying.
Everyone is shouting obscenities.
The kids have no idea why we're screaming, but they start screaming too. Pepper stands up on his back legs and starts howling.
I start crying.
Shane is laughing, kissing me.
"A girl. We're having a girl. Odette!"
We all calm down a little, and the guy that lives behind us is shouting excitedly, and then he adds.
"I have no idea why you guys are screaming, but ahhhhhh!"
We all start laughing.
"We're having a girl!" Shane shouts back.
He starts shouting again, yelling congratulations.
That guy is pretty cool. He watches Pepper when we're not home.

We were all so excited. We still are. We're in the backyard relaxing, and the kids are all playing.
I notice how they're all huddled over in the corner of the fence, whispering.
"What are they doing?" Macy asks, looking at Cole.
"I don't know, sweetie." He squeezes her hand.
I rest my head against Shane. He puts his arm around me.
