Felicity

Only it didn't.

It didn't get better.

She vanished. Her phone is disconnected and she won't speak to anybody.

Everyone went home, but now I'm due to have the baby in a week. We've got the nursery set up and the hospital bag sitting by the door.

Only, Thanksgiving is in two weeks. Everyone is going to be here.

I'm so ready to have Odette.

I'm at the point where I just want her out.

Shane has to help me up and down the damn stairs.

I'm waddling around the kitchen, and I feel her stirring in my belly.

I hear my phone ringing in the living room.

"It's a Chicago number!" Shane calls.

I sigh, walking into the living room. I take my phone and press answer.

"Hello?"

"Yes, hi, is this Felicity Walker?"

"Uh..." I hesitate. "Who is this?"

Most people know my last name isn't Walker anymore.

The baby violently kicks me. I sigh. She keeps her foot there. Everyone is watching my belly jut out. I poke her foot, and she moves.

"This is Jerry Lark." He says. "I'm the manager of Park Tower Penthouses."

That's my old place. Shane and I couldn't get rid of it. We kept it and we stay there when we have to be there for work.

"Oh. Okay." I say. "Is something wrong?"

"I'm afraid so." He sighs. "Your downstairs neighbor has called the office repeatedly about noise complaints, and I'd just like to tell you that if you don't keep it down, we may have to evict you."

I'm quiet.

"Noise complaints?" I repeat.

"Yes ma'am."

I hesitate.

"Hold on one second." I say.

"Okay." He says.

I mute the microphone.

"When is the last time you went to the penthouse?" I ask Shane.

He shrugs.

"I dunno. I think I was with you. Before Odette. Why?"

I frown, taking him off mute.

"What kind of noises?" I ask the guy.

"Loud footsteps, music..." he trails off. "Why? Is something wrong?"

It clicks.

I'm frozen for a bit.

"No, nothings wrong." I say. "I'm sorry. I'll keep it down."

"Okay, thank you."

"You're welcome."

I hang up.

I feel very awake today. Very energetic.

That's how I know she's going to be here soon. When I felt that with Owen, I gave birth that night.

I'm not have contractions though.

I look at everybody.

"We're going to the city." I say.
