C H A P T E R 2 | THE CHAMPION
This was the first time I'd ever been sent to the principals office. I curiously looked at the trophies and achievements set up on a bookshelf as I sat down on a fairly comfortable seat. Haze was seated next to me facing the other way.
"Ahem." The short chubby man coughs walking into the room. He walks over to his desk and sits down staring at the infamous food fight duo. "I'm not surprised to see you Mr Grey, as for you Elaina, it's your first day here isn't it?"
I nodded. "Listen Mr Simon." I said clearing my throat. "For some reason Haze thought it would be a good idea to start a food fight with the new student, you see my dilemma?"
"Dilemma?" Haze sneers. "You shouldn't have bumped into me in the hallway."
"You ruined my clothes for a pity mishap in the hallway hours ago?" I groaned, he's unbelievable.
"Enough." The principal groans. "I can either suspend you two or give you a week of detention—your pick."
"Suspension."
"Detention." I say glaring over at him.
"I can't I have things to do." Haze tells me.
"Please." I roll my eyes crossing my arms over my chest. "I just got to this school I can't get suspended."
"What's that suppose to mean?" Haze begins fighting with me again. He almost reminded me of those annoying puppies that don't ever seem to shut up.
"Again! Enough!"
We both get quiet. "I suppose Ms Wilde has a point, a week of detention it is then."
Great now because of this shit-head I would be stuck in a classroom for and hour. I got my bag and walked out of the office trying my best to quickly get away from Haze. Someone's strong grip on my forearm kept me from doing so. It reminds me about yesterday when he did the same thing. My eyes met with his and I felt almost hypnotized.
"You think you can just come into my school?" Haze sneers down at me.
I open my mouth to speak until he cuts me off.
"You've just made war cupcake, get ready for this to be the worst year of your life."
Gulp. Double gulp.
"Ive been through hell once." I said yanking my arm away from his grip. "I'm used to it."
With that I walk away. I found myself sitting in the stadium outside calling my dad in hopes that he'd pick up.
"Pick up." I mutter to myself. "Cmon."
My dad doesn't answer. It's understandable, he was currently trying to find another job to pay for the bills and to get food on the table, you see this whole moving away thing was supposed to be a quick fix. We didn't have a plan so my dads sorta struggling with the money.
