"It is just going to be so difficult for him now," his mother whispered to her beloved husband.

"I know honey, but we are just going to have to have faith in him."

"He is only ten Shaun, he is ten and he now has to adjust to losing something that he has never gone without, how can he go on?"

"I understand but honey, I know it is harsh but we can't get stuck on this. We have to be strong, be strong for him and help him get used to this."

"Okay... let's just worry about him waking up for now," Shaun nodded in agreement and took a seat on the end of the bed while Laurelle occupied the chair beside her son, encasing her warm hand around his cold one.

Troye felt her hand; he felt the warmth that it gave him. It stirred him from his sleep, a sleep he had been in for much too long. He could smell the air around him, he recognised the scent of chloroform from when he would visit his gran in hospital when she was living her last few weeks. He could hear the strained inhales and exhales of his parents. He realised his sight was pitch black, so upon realising his eyes were shut, he opened them. Revealing his beautiful blue orbs, allowing his parents to sigh in relief that he was finally awake. But only for him to be totally confused as to why he was still seeing darkness upon opening his eyes.

"M-Mum?" he called in a shaky voice, even though he could still feel her hand holding his.

"I'm hear Tok, I'm here. Don't panic my love."

"M-mummy? Why can't I see you?" Laurelle let out a heart broken sob at his innocent words.

"I'm sorry my baby," she whispered, now hugging him close to her chest.
"W-where is dad?" he asked, his voice muffled.

"I'm here my boy," Shaun said coming round to the other side of the hospital
bed. "I'm right here."

.......

Getting home the a week later was what Troye believes was the worst day of his life. He was so disorientated; he didn't know where to go or what to do with himself. He constantly needed someone by his side to guide him.

Would it even get easier?

His younger sister by three years, Sage, takes his hand to try get her big brother to feel better and to stop looking so sad.

"Come on Tok," she said as she took his hand and lead him to the living room and sitting him down on the couch. Tyde came bursting into the room, even though he was only five, he could very well sense his brother's unhappiness.

"I know what make Tok feel better!" he yelled in triumph. Sage was sat beside Troye who stared blankly at what he thought was the wall.

"What Tyde?" Troye asked, trying to sound interested and trying to look in his direction, trying to find the sound of his voice. He knew this was hurting them too, he knew they were affected by this as well.

"Tyde will turn on TV for Tok!" he said as he pressed the power button on the machine, presenting a picture Troye will never really know of what it was.

Troye then smiled to try convince his brother that was a great idea to try make him feel better, Tyde didn't know any better and Troye understood that.

"Thank you Tydels," he said in mock excitement, Sage watching him sadly, knowing how bad of a move that was. Tyde jumped up to sit on the other side of Troye, snuggling into his big brother's side as he watched the picture on the screen.

Laurelle watching the whole thing take place from the stairs, she watched on sadly but was grateful Troye was not taking it out on anyone... unfortunately only on himself.

Tyde then came to realise his mistake and sat up slowly. He gasped upon realising his brother was to not see a thing.

"I'm sorry Tok, Tyde forgot you can't see the picture," Troye felt the tears in his eyes sting but he held them back and smiled, hopefully actually looking to his brother. Even at his young age, Tyde noticed how Troye's eye flickered from one point to another trying to find him.

"I'm here Tok."

"Oh," Troye said when Tyde directed his face to face his with his small hands. He smiled then again. "Thank you Tydels, it's okay. Tok is not angry with you."

"But Tok can only hear the sounds, what about the picture?"

"It's okay Tydels," he said again, hugging his brother close to his side, giving him a kiss to his temple.
