'he looks at me like what?'

Troye and I had also grown to be very close friends over this span of a few months. I would help him out whenever he needed it and he always seemed to know what to say to help me out from when I was missing home or stressing over an assignment due, despite him still thinking he was very little help to me at all. He was quite the opposite.

Troye’s supposed best friend Kayla is coming to visit apparently and he insists on me meeting her, telling me she is amazing and he is sure we will get along well together.

I am now in my own apartment though, catching up on the last bit of school work I had left to be done. Not long after I could hear the ever familiar scratching at my door and I smiled. It was never annoying and it never failed to make me smile, I was happy Troye’s companion liked me so much.

I put down my pen and opened the door for Bruno to lead me to Troye’s apartment in a hurried and excited manner.

“Oh looks like Bruno brought him for us,” a female voice said, giggling, just as I walked in.

“Hello, I’m Jacob,” I introduce, walking up to her and shaking her hand gently. She is beautiful, just as Troye would always tell me who stood beside her, smiling in my direction.

“Hey, I’m Kayla,” she says with a bright smile. She and Troye then lead me to the living room where I took my seat, not too far from Troye, on the plush sofa.

Troye was right of course, Kayla is sweet and she makes laugh a lot. She and Troye bantered a lot which was adorable especially when he rolls his eyes, a habit he has had “since forever” according to Kayla. They told me some hilarious childhood stories and Kayla told me a bit more about herself. I think she is much like Troye in many ways and I can see why they get along and how close they are as well.

“But Troye has told me so much about you Jacob, he goes on and on and-” Troye slapped the back of her leg playfully before she could finish. “Ow, rude,” she said playfully then slapping his shoulder lightly while I laughed at their antics.

“If I didn’t know any better I would take you guys for siblings,” they laughed but I could see how much they took that as a compliment. Their bond is strong, no doubt about it.

…….

Troye’s POV

“Bye Jacob!” Kayla called once more at the door after Jacob had just left.

“Oh Kayla, just leave the guy alone now would you?” I say with a small smile while sitting at the kitchen island with a glass of juice in hand. I could hear Kayla take a seat beside me not long after.

“Okay but seriously Tro, when you told me you think he is hot you could not have been more correct,” I tilted my head, allowing her to go on and be my eyes for a second. “Like I know looks should not matter and all that jazz but damn Troye he is fine,” she says with a very schoolgirl giggle, I can sense her over dramatic use of mannerisms she would always use.

“What does he actually look like though?” I ask out of curiosity, sipping on my juice while trying to be nonchalant.

“Damn where do I start, that beautiful tanned skin, he is built so well and damn he is so tall. That dark hair and those gorgeous hazel eyes and don’t even get me started on his jawline,” I chuckle at her and the fact I knew I was right about the jawline, he definitely had to be drop dead gorgeous at the rate Kayla was going on about him. Good thing Kayla and I have always had the same taste in men.

“Calm down Kayla,” I say with another chuckle, hoping my blush is not as obvious as it feels.

“No reasons to get all jealous T, there is no doubt in my mind that you already have him by the way he looks at you,” I freeze in my seat for a moment.

“Okay first I am not jealous, shut up and two he looks at me like what?”

“Like he has been your boyfriend for years or something,” I am taken aback, is she giving me false hope or something?

“You’re fucking with me right?” I ask in disbelief. No way would he fall for me, no way I can be in any way desirable in his eyes. He had to be this gorgeous god, why would he want the blind boy?

“No Troye, I’m not bullshitting you I swear. He really does look at you like I am not even there; he totally has heart eyes for you,” she sounds very adamant but my insecure mind contradicts everything she is saying.
“I don’t even know if he is into guys Kayla,” I say with a shake of my head, she can easily be reading this all wrong.

“Well I know he is into you.”

“Don’t try getting my hopes up now,” I say seriously with a scoff.

“Aha! You do like him!” I can sense the huge smile on her face. I face another direction and she gasps. “You do! Oh Tro you have a crush!” she sing songs while I giggle and shake my head.
“Again, calm down. I doubt he is interested,” I can feel her eye rolling, something I think I rubbed off on her from a young age.

“Please, Troye I wish you could see for yourself. You have grown up to be so attractive, like I know I’m your friend and all but if i saw you and we didn’t know each other I would try get you to fall for me,” I laugh.

“Thanks but I don’t even want to think about that, that almost seems like incest to me,” she laughs but it’s true, she is like my sister.

“But seriously Tro, you are gorgeous and I’m not just saying that because I’m your friend. But I’m pretty sure Jacob sees that too by the way he looks so longingly at you,” I roll my eyes again but I drop the subject.

I have never been good at arguing with her anyway.
