I gaped at him an then shook my head, laughing. Josh smiled, and Katie chuckled with me.

“Impressive.” I replied, and then stood gingerly. Ian helped me to the door like a true gentleman, including the impressive bow. I chortled as Josh tossed his hair out of his eyes and nearly ran into the door. Katie just shook her head, and we clambered into Josh’s car, heading home. He dropped us off at home, and we went straight to bed, as we had an extremely early flight. Eight am in the airport was going to be a bitch.

Sure enough, the next morning was hard. Katie and I were up at six, loading everything into my car, which Josh was going to drive down. We drove to the airport, parking in the “One Hour Parking” area, jotting down the space on a Post-It note for Josh to find. We grabbed all the bags, loaded a trolley, and headed into the airport. Even this early, it was a fucking madhouse. I sighed.

“How the HELL are we going to find Josh in here?” I groaned.

            “Chill, Kris. We’ll find him.”

“HHOOOWWWWWW???? This place is insane!!!” I moaned and Katie laughed.

“Seriously? You HAVE your cell, right? Just call the freakazoid.” Katie said, and I smacked my forehead.

“Duh…” I muttered, and called him.

“Hey, where the fuck are you guys? Jesus this place is like it’s all on crack!” Josh answered. I rolled my eyes and named the gate we were at, and he said he’d be right there with a few friends. I arched an eyebrow upon hearing this, but we’d see who he brought. I was hoping it’d just be Josh and his family. But soon enough, Josh came running up with Matt, Ian, and some other guy with a crazy fro, along with Mrs. Ramsay. I smiled when I saw my best friend’s mom, and was suddenly glad I was wearing Matt’s necklace.

“You didn’t think I’d let my girls leave without saying goodbye, did you?” Mrs. Ramsay teased, crushing Katie and I into a hug. We hugged her tight. I would miss her, my best friend’s mom. She released us, and gently nudged me back into Matt’s waiting arms. I sighed at the relief his touch gave me, before jerking away.

“Hi, I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure of meeting yet. I’m Kristiana Mathers, the band’s manager type person. Please call me Kris.” I said, offering a hand to the fro dude beside Ian. He smiled, scratching his chin and goatee with the opposite hand that was shaking mine.

“I’m Mike Ayley, the new bassist. Who’s this lovely lady?” Mike replied, turning to Katie, only to immediately have Josh wrap his arm around her shoulder. I smiled a bit and rolled my eyes.

“This is Katherin Dorne, my best friend and she’ll be around a lot too.” I chuckled, before grabbing Katie’s arm and turning towards the gate.

“Hi, Ian!” I yipped as he scooped me into his arms.

“HIIII, KKKRRRIIISSSS!!!!” He yelled, carrying me through to the boarding area. I laughed, helpless. Matt glared at Ian, and I arched an eyebrow at him. He just shook his head, tossing the shaggy brown bangs out of his eyes and twirling one of his earrings. I grinned as Ian set me down gently. I was going to like this guy, I thought. Mike, Josh, Katie, and Matt came in right behind us, but not Mrs. Ramsay.

“Aren’t you coming, ma’am?” I asked her, and she shook her head, with the same bright smile as her son on her face.

“No, not today. I’m going home, I just came to drop the boys off.” I nodded at her and she left. I turned to my boys, and hugged them all, even Matt. That hug I saved for last, and tried to put as much emotion into it as I could.

“You aren’t leaving me for long. I know that even if you don’t.” Matt whispered, tightening his hold on me. I nodded, fighting back tears.

“I know, but it’s still hard. I finally learn I can have you, just in time to leave. God, I hate you for that.” I murmurmed, and released him, nearnly running up to the desk with my carry-on. Josh came up to me, pulling me against his chest again, his long black hair hanging into my face.

“Hey, hey, shush, shush…” He soothed as I tried my hardest not to cry. Katie walked up and put a hand on my back.

“We need to go, Kris. I’m sorry, but it’s time.” Katie said softly, and I nodded against Josh’s neck.

“Bye, little sis.” Josh muttered, kissing my forehead as only he and Matt could. I smiled at him and kissed his cheek before handing the air clerk my boarding pass.

“Bye, Josh. I’ll see you in a few days. Try not to wreck the car.” Katie said pointedly, reminding me of the incident. I chuckled, and turned back to wave, just in time to see Josh kiss Katie. Full on the mouth, electricity showing even from here. I laughed out loud, finally they sealed the deal!

“Katie! We need to go!!” I yelled, and watched her pull away with a bright smile.

“Coming!” She called back, dashing up to the clerk and passing them her own boarding pass. We flopped down in our seats and burst out laughing.
