Be warned this is REALLY short... But kind of essential... I won't post another chapter after this one if I don't get at least 5 comments (positive ones, guys). They really make me smile, and give me a better idea of how the story is progressing. LOVE YOU GUYS <3

Patrick and the boys left soon after this, detecting that Katie and I wanted some space. Patrick kissed my cheek again before he left, and Pete did the same for Katie. I smiled a bit at this, not having the slightest clue of the turmoil that was about to unfold. Katie and my next few days were drifting, unpacking, and wandering around Chicago. It was about three days after the dinner that Katie and I came back and spotted my car in the parking lot. We looked at each other, screamed, and raced inside to see Josh chatting with Tina in the lobby.
“JOSH!!!” Katie and I both yelled at the top of our lungs. He swung around laughing as we tackled him in a hug.
“God, I missed you two.” Josh chortled after we released him. Something moved from a chair behind us, making it squeal as it dragged across the tile floor.
“Do I get no love at all?” Ian said as he walked up to our large group hug and threw himself into it. I giggled before I turned around to hug him.
“I’m gonna guess this is the brother, Kris?” Patrick called from the elevator, as he and the boys climbed out. I grinned and pointed to Josh as I released Ian.
“I’m so happy you guys are here! Josh, Ian, this is Patrick, Pete, Andy, and Joe. You four, this is my brother, Josh, and our friend Ian. He’s also the drummer for Josh’s band… Which as yet remains unnamed.” I introduced my people to each other and hugged Josh again. Josh pulled away and pointed at the quartet of guys staring at me laughing.
“Which of you unworthy assholes is the one who wants to date my sister?” Josh snarled, and I rolled my eyes. Patrick shifted the cadet cap over his fluffy hair, slid his glasses back up his nose, and stepped forward.
“That would be me, Josh. I’m Patrick Stump; we actually live a floor below the girls. It’s nice to meet you.” Patrick said, stammering just slightly, before looking at me and winking. I smiled and winked back.
“Not too bad looking, fairly well-mannered… Musically talented?” Josh muttered to me. I burst into belly laughs.
“Yes, Josh. Patrick is slightly more than musically talented.” I chuckled. Josh arched an eyebrow as he continued to examine my soon-to-be-boyfriend.
“He looks really familiar….” Josh whispered and I kept laughing.
“That would be because he’s the lead singer for that group I’ve been so into lately… The one that what’s-her-face sent us the CD for?” I explained and I knew the instant Josh connected the dots.
“HOLY SHIT!!! YOU’RE DATING PATRICK FUCKING STUMP FROM FALL OUT BOY?!?!?!?!?! THE GUY IS INSANELY TALENTED WHAT THE HELL KRIS WHY DID YOU NOT SAY ANYTHING EARLIER?!?!?!?!?!?!” Josh screeched, and everyone was trying to hide laughter and failing. Patrick flushed, and nodded.
“I wanted you to meet him as a guy first, Josh. But yes, I’m going to be dating Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy. Blessing granted?” I asked, and Josh nodded fervently. I giggled and went and kissed Patrick’s cheek as I wrapped my arms around him. He smiled down at me, his eyes really green in the light. Pete decided to ruin the moment.
“Alright, alright, clear the room, the baby-making shall begin at any moment with the way they’re eyeing each other…” Pete said loudly, and Pat and I both shot him a death glare.
“Not on my watch!!” Ian shouted, scooping me up and racing Josh to the elevator. I screamed helplessly with mirth. Katie caught up to us, and we rode up to our apartment, Ian still carrying me.
“Holy fucking bananas. This is your apartment?” Ian gasped when he saw the room. I nodded.
“Yes, this is the place. Could you put me down now?” I asked and Ian gently threw me onto a couch. I laughed, at least until Josh flopped down onto my stomach.
“Oof! Get off me, you dick!” I screeched as Josh started to tickle me. The front door of the apartment gave a rousing knock and Josh gave me a look that was half afraid.
“You. Didn’t. “ I hissed at him. I swore under my breath at the guilt on his face. I shoved Josh off me, onto the floor, before I stormed over to the door. I threw it open, prepared to rage. The lethal rage on my face was evident and it made Matt back way the hell up. He was maybe five feet away from me.
“What the HELL are YOU doing here, Matthew Ian Webb?” I sneered, pissed beyond belief. What had happened to him not coming with Josh?
“Josh told me there was a guy here… I wanted to meet him. And I wanted to see you again…” Matt whispered, looking like he was near tears. I slapped him, covering the distance between us in three steps. The sound of it echoed down the hall and Matt stood tall. I was crying now, but I couldn’t stop the tears.
“Damnit, Matt. You don’t have the right to come here and fuck up my life like this!” I snorted, trying to stop crying. Matt wrapped his arms around me, crushing me to his chest.
“I’m not going down without a fight, Kristiana Eliza Mathers. I won’t, not when it comes to you.” Matt breathed, pressing a kiss to my forehead.
“I have a boyfriend now, Matt. You have already lost.” I muttered. Matt tensed.
“If I’ve already lost you, then why do I still see love in those blue eyes, Kris? You told me you would try for happiness. You wanted me to. I will try, but with you.” Matt murmured to me, before yanking my mouth to his. I kissed him back, God help me. The joy that raced through my veins at his touch was unstoppable, even as my tears continued to drift down my cheeks and onto Matt’s flannel shirt. I finally mustered the strength to pull away and he released me, breathing heavily. I slapped a hand over my mouth, still crying.
“Go home, Matt. There’s nothing for you here.” I whispered, before pelting into the apartment and slamming the door in his face. I leaned against it, sobbing. Josh stared in amazement. I just shook my head at his questioning glance, retreating to my room to let the tears fall in peace.
