A war has started about two days ago on September 30, 2015. My mom, Joanna, put the news on the tiny TV that was in the crowded living room. The attackers have come for any girls under the age of 20 here in the state of Crowntin, Watland.
The news reporters claim that the attackers come from South America which is under our country of wetland. We have a total of 20 states. They flew here on an airline instead kidnapping little girls. 38 have gone missing in two days, 11 were found dead. It is all started in a city named Hovent, ten miles away from me.
I sat in the corner of my room in my small six rent house. The news was up loud enough that I could hear even with my door closed. "From what investigators have discovered, it seems that the attackers take the girls to carry books of intelligence. Please take caution of everyone in and do anyone."
My brother Drew was off at college for his second year. Im not supposed to go back to my school, Simlynn High, for another four days. Drew is on his way home to keep my mom and I safe. Our father Daniel left my mom when I was eight because he had no money or job to help my mom. Mother said he lives in Thornville which is three hours away.
My room had a Hazel desk, half dresser, and a twin size bed for me. I was sitting with my knees against my chest and my hands over my ears. Gunshots went off outside my only window continuing the  Everlum War.
When I heard pounding on the front door and screaming, my first reaction was to freeze. There is no way it could be an attacker or else for one, they wouldn't knock on the doors when each had a gun. Also, they wouldn't beg for help.
My last memory of this day was when I open the door. Maybe that's Drew or friend that I could help. Before the door was completely open, it was like lights out for me. I didn't feel any pain so it could be possible that I fell asleep. The truth is yet to be discovered.

"Ella, Ella? Can you hear me? Come on wake up! I don't want to lose you. Please Ella?" The voice I heard was clearly a man but I couldn't determine who exactly it was. Drew? My long lost dad? If only I could open my eyes...
Slowly, one muscle at a time, I begin to come back. Starting with moving my fingers, wiggling my toes, and finally my eyes open. To my surprise, my visitor was my best friend Jake. "J-Jake I-I-is-" but the words wouldn't come out.
"Yes, it's me Ella. It's Jake. Don't try to talk, he's been in surgery for a few hours. Unfortunately I don't think you will be able to talk."
Question zoomed around my brain such as how long has it been since I was answering the door? Who was at the door? Answers were needed so I looked around for a pencil and some paper. "yes you're in a hospital all about everything will be OK." Jake couldn't read my mind which means I would have to find a way to tell him what I was looking for without talking. Instead, I put my index finger up to my palm and pretended like I was writing. "Does your palm itch? Oh! You want something to write with!"
The nurse came over with a pen and two pieces of lined paper. I started to write down questions like "why can't I talk" and "where is my mom in Drew" and "what happened to me?"
Jake gave me a sad look before answering my questions. He took my hand in his and slowly spoke, "i'm sorry Ella but neither your mom or Drew will make it. Drew was five minutes away from your house when he saw three little girls trapped in a corner. He got out of his car to help them but he was hit by a truck."
For Drew, my only brother was the closest in the last family member I had besides my mom. Speechless this and sobs feel my face when I realized I was alone now. Anson uncles, grandma and grandpa, and cousins died together in an airplane ride to a family friend wedding. June I didn't want to miss one week of school so we stayed with Joanna.
One final tear ran from my eye while I continue to write, "if I'm alone now can you help me find somewhere to live? Staying in the same house is too sad."
Jake  flashed me a big smile then replied, "my mom and I were thinking- if you want-that you can come and stay with us." I wouldn't mind that plan. "that's only if you feel safe, I don't want you to worry."
