The next two days went by really slow with Jake at school. Mrs. Robins helped care for me through the day like walking. It really wasn't that bad when she didn't talk. When she did I had a hard time keeping focus because she would babble about random things .
Jake came home at three and was happy almost every time he walked through the door. Never had I quite understood how school could be so exciting for someone. Monica thinks he's only happy because he had something to look forward to when he came home; me.
"Jake can we please go see my room?" I begged like a child. "I've waited patiently all day for you to come home to see it. Not even a peek." Jake thought it was cute when I pretended like a child, but only on certain occasions like this. He wrapped his arm around my waist and led the way to my room.
"Let go Chica. Hop on my back, I'll give you a piggy-back rid so it doesn't take another four hours." As fun as it sounded, being on his back seemed dangerous. "You don't trust me, still? Not once have I hurt you."
"True, you have a good point but if I can't walk on my own by tomorrow then I can't go Halloween shopping Thursday with you. I made a deal with your dad." Even though I insisted on walking, he wouldn't budge.
My room was built off the family room. It was put together by John and his buddies but accessorized by Jake.
A red comforter later on a queen sized bed to the left of my room. Jake had put a desk in my room so I could draw. I noticed there wasn't a dresser for my clothes, if I had any of my own.
"This room is amazing Jake! What the red and white doors for?" The walls in my room were pink so the door semi matched.
"Slow down! The red door leads to the bathroom and the white doors lead to you closet. Which would you like to see first?" I stood up from sitting on the soft bed and walked to the closet.
Jake came home at 3 o'clock happy almost every day. I didn't understand how school could make someone so happy. My room was finally done and I was dying to see it. I promised myself to wait for Jake to get home.
"Jake, can we please go see my room now. It's done and I've waited four hours for you! Can't we go check it out now please, please, please!?" I sounded like a child in a candy store begging for candy. Usually I wouldn't beg but it he finds it kind of cute.
"let's go Chica. How about my back, I'll give you a piggyback ride so you don't have to walk." As fun as it sounded, being on his back dangerous. "what, you don't trust me? Not once have I hurt you."
"true. You have a point but if I can't walk by tomorrow then I can't go early Halloween shopping with you on Thursday. I made a deal with your dad." And even though I insisted on walking, he wouldn't budge.
My room was built off the family room. It was put together by John and his buddies but accessorized by Jake.
A red comforter laid on a queen size bed to the left of my room. Jacob put a desk in my room so I could drop. I noticed that there wasn't a dresser for my clothes, if I had any.
"This room is amazing Jade! What's the red and white doors for?" The walls in my bedroom where pigs of the door color semi matched.
"slow down! The red door leads to the bathroom and the white doors lead to your closet. Which would you like to see it first?" I stood up from sitting on the soft bed and walk to the closet.
The double door closet was about as big as the main bathroom. Never would I have imagined having so much space for clothes. Shelves near the floor help maybe 30 pairs of shoes and folded clothes. The majority of clothes hung on the three out of four walls.
Words didn't fit for us eggs but I had to somehow say thank you to Jake. In a friendly way, I gave him a kiss on the cheek. Only three pairs of clothes were already mine, two of which were my favorite pajamas from Drew.
"I remember you telling me which pairs of clothes were your favorites. Sorry for not getting all of them, some of them looked too small or ripped. Want to check out the bathroom now?"
We walked out of the double white doors it into the single red door. I was amazed again when I turn the lights on. The first thing that got my attention was the tub. If you could even call it that. It had massage Jets, bubbles, lights, it fits up to three people.
Next to the mini Jacuzzi was a standing shower with brown floor and wall tiles. Across from that was a two-person sink in the toilet. I loved all of it but for only one person it was a lot!
Then I saw it, a picture of my family from Christmas. Mom was standing by the snowy tree with Drew and I by her side. I felt a tear rolled down my cheek but I didn't wipe it off.
"was that too much? I thought maybe you'd want to memory of it so I hung it in here." Before I could even say anything I was hugging Jake. The weirdest part was that it felt almost normal.
The moment I did Charlie by his mom calling us into the kitchen for dinner. When we walked into the kitchen, plates were already set with fettuccine Alfredo, linguine, and corn.
Jake pulled out my chair for me to sit - right next to him - but before he said Mrs. Robin gave him "the look." After a few seconds it clicked and he offered me a drink. "Water, please" I replied politely. Besides that, the dinner what shorten mostly quiet besides John's attempt to make small talk.
