Mating Like No Other

Chapter Eight

As soon as I was sure Rick was gone I let the tears fall. They poured down heavily, as soon as, I'd wipe one away two more would slide down to replace it. I knew I was a little too harsh on him, but all I could think about was how he rejected me and broke my heart. I escaped to my little garden thinking here I could I could be alone. Away from him and his haunting beauty and the love I felt for him even if he rejected me. I've worked on my garden since, I was a kid. All around me was different colored roses I inhaled the sweet scent of them. After a few breaths the tears slowed and I felt a lot calmer than before. I sighed and made my way back to the house.

I opened the front door and was making my way to the stairs to head up to my room. When I heard Daddy call out to me. I walked into his study and sat on the leather sofa across from his desk and said,"Is there a problem Daddy?"

"What was going on with you at dinner?"

"Nothing." I get up to leave.

"Sit now!" Daddy growled. "Stop lying and tell me what whats going on!" I knew better than to upset Daddy he had a nasty temper. But for some reason instead of cowering and telling him what he wanted know. I stayed calm and looked him in the eye.

"I said nothing." Now that did it he was really angry now. Daddy gripped the arm rests of his chair his knuckles turning white. I watched as his eyes narrowed and his nostrils flare. He growled at me through clenched teeth,"I don't know who you think your talking to. But you'll talk to me with respect and tell me what I want to know."

"Are we done?" I asked but instead of waiting for his answer I got up and walked out. As I was heading up the stairs Daddy screamed my name. But I didn't stop I kept going, because as I reached my room. I promised myself that I was going to break out of my shell. No more quiet, shy girl who let everyone get their way.

Beep! Beep! Beep! I hit the snooze button and climbed out of bed. I was really excited about going to school today. It was Monday offically the day I showed everyone the new me. I spent the weekend shopping for new clothes. I pulled out some extra short shorts and a white baby tee. I then slipped on some white sandals and checked the alarm clock. 30 mins before school I decided to skip breakfast and grabbed my car keys from my dresser. I walked through the kitchen and passed away my parents at the kitchen table. Daddy and I still haven't made up. So I didn't bother speaking to him or giving him my attention as he took in my outfit and growled in dislike. I walked by and got into my yellow Pruis and drove off to school.

As I got out the car all the guys eye instantly went to my body. Some whistled and others threw comments my way. I smiled and even winked at a few earning me lots of smiles amd a few hateful glares. Walking in through the crowded hall I instantly spotted Rick flirting with Hillie/Millie at her locker. This on cute boy named Jake who was in my math was at his locker next tp hers and instantly I got an idea. I glided up to him and tapped his shoulder. When Jake turned he was really surprised to see me but, when he took in my outfit he was really surprised.

"Like what you see?" I smirked batting my eyelashes. He gave me a half smile and said,"As a matter of fact I do." I push my chest against his and his eyes glided downward eyeing towards my boobs. I glanced in Ricks direction to see him seething with anger. Jake had a pen in his hand that I took and used to quickly scrawled my phone number on his hand before, turning on my heels and walking away. I threw Jake a kiss over my shoulder and turned to look at the enraged Rick and threw him a wink before strolling down the hall getting lost in the crowd.
