Chapter 5: Dresses and Secrets

August 28th

"Are you sure you don't want me to come?" Maya asked," You know Josh and Lucas are going."

"Why do you all of a sudden care if my uncle is going?" Riley said.

"No reason," Maya said. Maya was helping Riley getting ready for a high school party. Maya was invited but she is somewhat sick. Riley was texting Lucas, Farkle, Zay, Smackle and Holly. 

"Whoa you are popular," Maya said looking at Riley while she was texting Holly, "Who is Holls?"

"That's my cousin," Riley said," She is so hip and popular at her school and whenever I am going out to socialize or anything it is usually her I text."

"But you seems to be texting Smackle, Lucas, Zay and Farkle too," Maya said," That is it. I am going to this party."

"Ok," Riley said. 

'Why are you texting all these people anyways?" Maya asked while curling the last strand of Riley's hair and putting half of it into a ponytail.

"Because I can," Riley said.

"You are so annoying," Maya said. 

"I know!" Riley said smiling.

At Farkle's place the boys were getting ready. 

"Hey guys, I have a confession," Zay said.

"What dude? You know you can tell us anything," Lucas said.

"I'm going to ask out Riley tonight at the party," Zay said," I mean how can you not like her. The way she would do anything for her friends."

"Yeah," Lucas said looking down at the floor," She is really something."

"Why are you so sad?" Zay asked," You have the blonde beauty."

"I am fine," Lucas said jolting straight up.

"Why isn't Smackle here getting ready with us?" Maya asked Riley while changing.

"I don't know," Riley answered looking up from her phone," Want me to call her?" 

"Sure, but tell her we are at your place," Maya said button up her vest.

"Okay I am going to step outside real quick," Riley said

While Riley was talking to Smackle Maya checked her phone. She realized she got a text from Lucas.

*Texts*

Lucas <3 : Maya, I wanted to tell you this but whenever Zay is talking to Riley DON'T GO OVER THERE!

Maya: Why?!?!?

Lucas <3 : He is going to ask her out. Don't tell her though. It will ruin the surprise.

Maya: I won't

*End of texts*

"Ok she is will be here in five," Riley said," Who are you texting?"

"No one. I was just checking Instagram," Maya said tossing her phone on Riley's bed.

"Okay," Anyways let's finish getting ready," Riley said.

"Who are you texting?" Farkle asked while putting on a leather jacket.

"Maya, telling her to not interrupt Zay when he is talking to Riley," Lucas said.

"You seem sad," Farkle replied sitting next to Lucas.
