Chapter 1: The Kiss

August 13th

Riley Matthews and Lucas Friar were sitting at the park hanging out. They had a real tight friendship that nobody could tear apart. They met in 7th grade and they had only been friends ever since. 

 "Hey, Lucas. Do you ever think that Maya and you would ever actually break up?" Riley said while looking at the pure blue sky. They were sitting on the railing of the bridge.

"Well, lately I have had alot on my mind between Maya and I. I don't know it's just that I feel like I don't love her the way I used to," Lucas said, "there is this one girl who makes me feel so amazing." He looked over at her smoothly and put his arm around her.

"Ready for sophomore year?" Riley asked placing her head on Lucas' shoulder.

"Oh heck no," Lucas said," but I guess I will be find as long as you are by my side." Riley and Lucas looked at each other, Lucas gazing into her brown eyes. She smiled. Lucas leaned in and as his lips landed on hers Riley placed her hand on Lucas' face. Their lips disconnected and they looked at each other. Riley's eyes got really big.

 "Lucas. That just happened didn't it," Riley said.

 "Oh no," Lucas said. 

 "Lucas, what do we do?" Riley asked.

 "Um, that was really good, the kiss," Lucas said.

 "Lucas, I just helped you cheat on my best friend," Riley said worriedly, "that is a major girl code breakage."

 "Girl code?" Lucas asked.

 "Don't even ask," Riley said.

 "How about we decide to lay it off for a few days and then maybe in a few days we will talk about it," Lucas said.

"How can I not think about it? It was amazing and all but it was mean and hurtful to Maya," Riley said with tears in her eyes. Lucas got up and went over to where Riley was standing.

"Riley, it will be okay. I promise. I promise that nothing will come in between Maya and I or Maya and you. When I came here in seventh grade you and Maya were inseparable and I am not going to be the reason you two start fighting. We didn't mean to have that kiss. Yeah it was both of our first but it was accidental but amazing," Lucas said looking into Riley's chocolate brown eyes.

"You promise Maya and I will be okay and you two won't start fighting," Riley replied.

"I swear I won't let her hurt you or hurt me. Who has always been there for you? I have, now don't beat yourself up about something that wasn't even intentional. Will you be okay?" Lucas explained attempting to cheer up Riley. She still had tears in her eyes. 

"You have always been there for me even when Maya wasn't," she said, "I am sorry I overreacted. I am just because you are dating Maya and Maya is my best friend. I am sorry." 

"It is okay, Riley. I will always be here for you," Lucas said. He pulled Riley into a hug and Riley started smiling.

How did you all like Chapter 1? I hopefully will be able to update the stories more and more then I do!! Will Maya ever find out about the Riley and Lucas' kiss or will they try to keep it a secret?
