Chapter 9
Talon
Fucking bills. I try to focus as I go thorough the the bills and other boring paper work. But I fail. Badly.
My wolf keeps howling in my head to turn around and stare out the window behind me. To look at our mate who is training our pack wolves in the back training yard. I ignore him and try hard to focus on the damn work. But all I can think of is Darlene in a shorts and a sports bra kicking my pack members who fail to meet her orders.
I let out a loud sigh before putting the file in my hand on the table. I take deep breaths and stare at the files in front of me. Giving up I turn around on my rolling office chair and stare out the floor to Ceiling window. I had a perfect view of the back yard from here. Perfect view of Darlene.
Fu*k. She is hot.
She stood watching two young wolves battle along each other in their human forms. One of the wolf losses to another. Darlene glares at the one who lost and walks up to him and yells at him furiously. At once the looser wolf gets down on the ground and starts push ups.
Damn she was good. And strict as hell. And even from here I can tell it hurts like hell to get hit by her. Everyone seemed scared of her temper. It's funny how it's only the third day of training and everyone is following her orders as if she is some type of a time bomb that will explode any moment if ignored. My wolf howls with pride seeing his mate handling everything perfectly.
The door to my office opens without a knock and Kender walks in shutting the door behind her. I frown at her direction as she walks towards me swaying her hips. She crosses the table and stands right beside me and places by her hands on the arm of my chair. Her face barely two inched away from mine as she shows me her smile.
"Kender I'm busy right now." I speak with authority and a straight face.
Her smile fells before Turing into a pout. "You are always busy now a days."
"Kender please leave. Next time knock the door before coming in."
Her pout turns to a sad expression at my words. Hurt written all over her face. She doesn't say anything and starts leaving the room. She comes to a halt half way to the door and turns around and walks towards me again. This time she stands on the other side of the desk.
"Why are you ignoring me?" She asks putting both her hands on the desk.
"I'm not ignoring you." I reply with a boring expression.
"Yes you are." She insists. "It's because of her right?" She nods towards the window behind me. "Darlene."
I open my mouth to refuse. But she continues her accuses before I can say anything.
"Don't lie! Since the second she stepped in this territory you've been ignoring me! And all you do is stare at her!" She states loudly.
"I don't." I defend myself.
She lets out a sarcastic chuckle. "Do you think I'm dumb? All you do is steal glances! You stare at her when ever she is around. Even at dinner you keep looking at her!" She snaps. "Hell even now what you call being busy is ogling her out of your window!" She shouts.
Anger takes over me. She is right about everything she said, and this angers me. In addition her yelling at me angers me. I'm an alpha no one raises their voice at me. Even if it's the girl I've been screwing for over 5 years.
My eyes turn a darker shade as I get up from my chair and stalk towards her. She instantly backs down and whimpers in fear from my authority. "You will leave right now and wouldn't disrespect me ever again." I say in my alpha tone something any wolf from my pack bows down to.
