Chapter 1

Jasmine pov~

It was a sunny day in NYC and I was on my way to the Public Theater. I was recently cast as Peggy/Maria Reynolds in a new musical, Hamilton. I had no idea if it was going to do well (haha), but I was still really excited.

I arrive at the theater, go in the stage door, and immediately smack into someone. "Wow, great job, Jasmine" I think to myself. Before I can apologize, though, there is hand being outstretched towards me. I grab it, thankful, and stand up. I am met face to face with the most handsome man I have ever seen. He seems just as shocked as I do, but we break apart after about ten seconds, realizing we still don't know who the other person is. "Hi" we both say at the same time. We both start to laugh and I notice his perfect smile. "Damn, he's cute" I think to myself. "Hi, I'm Jasmine Cephas Jones" I say to the hot guy, who I am secretly hoping is single. "Hey there, I'm Anthony Ramos. I play John Laurens/Philip Hamilton. What about you?" "I play Peggy/Maria Reynolds" I say back. "Cool. Well, Jasmine Cephas Jones who plays Peggy/Maria Reynolds, I have to go, but it was a pleasure meeting you" Anthony says to me. "The pleasure was all mine" I say back, flashing him a smile. After a few more seconds of just looking at each other, he walks off. Caught up in my world, I don't even realize that two women are standing near me, trying to get my attention.

"Hello" one woman yells, waving her hand in front of my face. "Do you think she's ok?" the other woman asks, curiously. I look at them, startled, and say "Hi, sorry. Just a little caught up in my own world." "More like caught up in cutie-mc-freckle face" the younger of the two women says. Of course, my cheeks immediately turn a deep shade of red. "Hi, I'm Renee Elise Goldsberry and I play Angelica Schuyler. Sorry about Pippa, she loves anything to do with dating and being involved in other people's love lives." "I do not!" the other woman yells. "Hi, I'm Phillipa Soo, but you can call me Pippa, and I play Eliza." "Nice to meet you guys" I respond. "I'm Jasmine Cephas Jones and I play Peggy/Maria Reynolds." "Awesome!" Pippa shouts. "We've been looking for our third Schuyler sister." "Well let's go set up our dressing room before Lin calls us down for rehearsal" Renee says. Pippa and I follow Renee upstairs, but not before I glance behind me to see if Anthony is there.
