Chapter 14

Anthony pov

Jasmine is still in the bathroom. It's been two hours. I told her that the food has already arrived, but she just told me to eat without her. After I finish eating, she's still in the bathroom, so I sit down on her couch and turn on the tv. After watching a three hour movie, Jasmine finally emerges from the bathroom. She looks drained, as if she's cried all of the fluid out of her body. She sits down next to me on the couch and I turn off the tv.

"Do you want to tell me what happened?" I question her. "I promise i'll be quiet and just listen." Jasmine seems to perk up at me saying that i'll be quiet so she begins:

"Well, when we were still running at the Public Theater, there was an older man who came to see the show. He reached out to me on social media afterwards but I ignored it. Then, he started spamming me, trying to get my attention. After that didn't work, he began to DM me. I guess he could tell when I read all of his messages and didn't respond because he started threatening me."

"What the hell, Jasmine?! Why wouldn't you tell me this?!" I yell at her. "You promised you'd be quiet!" Jasmine yells back. I shut my mouth and nod at her, telling her to keep going.

"Then he started calling me things like "baby" and stuff like that. One day, he DM'd me that he got tickets to see us on opening night, and that he was so proud of how far I had come. Well, I guess word got around pretty quickly that you and I were together because he started sending me pictures of us together saying that he was gonna find you and kill you. That's why I was always afraid to walk around at night with you. Because I didn't want him to kill you!"

Now, Jasmine was crying and I just stared at her. I can't believe she kept all of this from me. We were both in danger this whole time and she never told anyone!

"Then what happened" I manage to get out.

"Well, I told him to stay away from us and he told me "Never." That's what he said to me tonight. I told him to get away from me and he said "Never." That was right before-" "He touched you." I finish. "Yeah... Right before
h-h-he touched me."

Jasmine and I sat on her couch in silence for the next hour. I could barely look at her. I love her so much, I could never imagine her getting hurt or taken advantage of, but I still can't believe she never told anyone about all of the danger we were in. Especially me! I'm her boyfriend, isn't she supposed to trust me?

"I guess I should head out..." I say, starting to stand up. "No!" Jasmine shouts. "Please stay, I don't feel safe without you." I look into Jasmine's eyes and all of the anger I had about this situation went away and all I cared about from there on out was her safety. "Of course I'll stay. I'm sure i've left pajamas here before, so i'll just wear those. And i'll sleep on the couch."

"You don't have to do that, Ant. You can stay in my bed with me." I just looked at Jasmine. "Are you sure? You're super fragile right now and I don't want to do anything to hurt you or jeopardize our relationship." I state. "Yes, i'm sure. I actually would prefer you stay with me, it makes me feel more safe and more comfortable, knowing you're laying right next to me."

I give Jasmine a sheepish grin, and I know that she knows that I am hella excited to be sleeping with her. "But no funny business!" Jasmine says, laughing. "Oh I know. I just love the fact that you admitted that you need me." I say to her, half-joking, half-serious. "Of course I need you, Ant. Forever you and me." I give her an agreeing smile and say "You got that right, Jazzy, forever you and me."
