California had never looked so beautiful before according to Theo, as he stood near his room's window. The darkness outside was lighten up by the moon and the stars. There were many stars today which was unusual. He had never seen so many stars in the sky. The stars was mostly hidden by the clouds every night but today was different. Theo sighed sadly. His life was far from normal. He never got the chance to go for camping in the woods or fields but, instead he got the chance to stay in hotels after hotels. He never got the chance to eat the street foods of California but, instead the chance to eat the classy foods from the hotels. He was never allowed to wear sweatshirts or normal loose shirts when he goes out but, instead has to stick with button up shirts. He never got the chance to make friends throughout his life. His only friend is his cousin Adrian who lives right next door. When he was very young he was forced to go to a boarding school. When he comes home for holidays he is put into different extracurricular classes like painting, violin and piano classes but never got the chance to run around and play. He was never asked about his opinions, what he likes, what he dislikes, what he wants to do or what he wanted to become. He doesn't even remember when was the last time his family had went out together for vacations instead of business trips. He doesn't even remember when was the last time anyone showed concerned or love for him from his family. The only person who always looked out for him was his housekeeper and his cousin Adrian. He looked to the stars which was twinkling. He had heard many people saying that how arrogant he is because he shows dislike towards things that many people wishes for.....but, people doesn't understand him. Everyone look from their point of view but never from his. He was never allowed to do the things he wanted nor was he allowed to try anything he wanted. He always had to be dressed like a gentleman, to fulfill everyone's expectation. He smiled bitterly. He wondered when he will get a chance to fulfill his dreams and hopes. He noticed a star twinkling brighter than the rest and saw the star moving.
"Shooting Star" he whispered in shocked. Before it was too late he quickly made a wish.
When he was a child and when he came back home from boarding, he expected his parents to hug him tight to tell him how much they had missed him and how much they loved him but, instead he came home with no family members except the housekeeper and the staffs. His parents had left for business trip. He realized that how funny it is that when he expects something it doesn't go his way but when someone expects him to do something he does. He remembers the words of his housekeeper telling him that one day his life will change but he will need to have some patience in him. He remembers how every day after that he used to asked his housekeeper, how long till things will change and then one day the housekeeper said "when you see a shooting star, make a wish and then you will see" that day onward he used to wait every night until his bedtime for a shooting star and when he grew up he forgot about that, until today.
"I want someone to love me, someone who will be there for me all the time, someone who I can show love to, someone who will understand me and still be with me even if I can't fulfill people's expectations. I want to go for adventure and I want to do the things I had missed in my childhood." He whispered "please" at the end. He saw that the shooting star twinkled once as if granting his wish before disappearing from his sight. He then shut the glass window then decided it was time to go to bed. He didn't expect his wish to come true but he had a little hope before falling asleep. Little did he know that his wish was granted and he will be facing unexpected things soon.
