PART 11
We all went into the living room. A room with white walls, with fan drawings and letters stuck onto the main wall. A huge flat screen TV was on a coffee table in one corner, and five red, double sofas were located around the room. A small, round table was in the middle of the room, with pizza boxes, coffee mugs and other rubbish just left there.
“Sorry about the mess,” Siva said apologetically. Tom rolled his eyes. Everyone sat in pairs on the sofas. Jay was holding Alice’s hand, Tom and Lucy were practically laying together, kissing every now and again, Max had Chloe sat on his lap and they were laughing, probably at Max’s awful jokes, and Siva was absentmindedly playing with a strand of Cassie’s hair. I had my head of Nathan’s shoulder, with his head rested on mine and his arm around me. For some reason, I felt weirdly safe, even though we had only just met; it was as if we had known each other for years.
Within half an hour, everyone except me and Nathan had started drinking. Music blasted out from the TV station. I sat quietly snuggled into Nathan. He looked down at me, a calm smile on his face.
“Do you want to go some place quieter?” he murmured. I nodded quietly at him. He stood up, took my hand and led me out of the room without the others even noticing that we had gone. Nathan took me up two flights of stairs and then covered my eyes.
“No peeking ok?” He whispered and I giggled a little. I heard him open a door and then he uncovered my eyes. I gasped in wonder.
