PART 24
Nathan jumped out of the cart and ran towards Jayne who was still filming on the flip cam, grinning and laughing. I couldn’t help but laugh at him as he grabbed the camera from Jayne and went round all of the others laughing at their failure and filming their reactions. He looked like an exited puppy.
The other guys joked around with him and started a playfight. We decided to get out of the way and went to sit on a bench. We sat talking and giggling, and realized that we hadn’t had a proper girls night out since the night before te audition.
“That’s insane!” Chloe said, surprised.
“I know right!?”Cassie laughed.
“We need to go out. Like soon.” Alice said, laughing as Tom tackled Jay.
“Well how about tonight? We can go out drinking?” Lucy suggested.
“Guys...I’m still 17 remember...?” I said quietly.
“Oh yeah of course, your birthday is on Friday right?” Cassie said, and I laughed at her while nodding slowly.
“Well then it’s sorted,” Lucy smirked, “We have a girly night tonight, and then on Thursday, all 10 of us go out drinking for Rachel’s birthday.” We all nodded in agreement, and watched the boys sign off from their video. They ran over to us still jumping on each other. Nathan got to me first, picking me up and spinning me round. I giggled and bent down to kiss him. He smiled and kissed me back quickly before pulling back.
“We won!” He grinned.
“Yes we won.” I replied, rolling my eyes. He laughed and spun me round again. “It’s only a cart race Nath!”
“Yeah but I never win anything!” I laughed at him again, and leant up to kiss his cheek. I turned around to see if the others were watching, but they were all having cute couple moments, so I turned back to Nathan, who was smiling at me slyly.
“What Nath?” I said suspiciously raising one eyebrow.
“It’s your birthday on Friday isn’t it?” I just nodded in response. “Good.” He said, and chuckled under his breath.
“Why...?” I enquired.
“No reason...” He said, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. I knew something was up, but I decided not to be too nosey. It couldn’t really be a bad thing if Nathan was planning it...could it? But then again if the other guys were going to be getting involved...thats when I should get worried.
The other couples had all separated by this time, and we all merged into one big group.
“So guys, what’s the plan for tonight?” Tom asked, putting his arm around Lucy. She blushed and rested her head on his shoulder.
“Actually, us girls were planning on having a girls night, as we haven’t had one since before the audition.” Lucy announced, smiling at us.
“Oh that’s cool, well we can all go out can’t we boys.” Jay said, with a huge smile on his face. He obviously had an idea in mind, but didn’t want us catching on. Soon the plan was settled. We were staying at home while the guys went to a new club in town. Jayne gave us her number so that if we had any problems in the house while the guys were out, we could call her for help.
We got back in the van, and Nathan, Alice, Jay and I went to get supplies for our girl’s night. Me and Alice wanted to go alone, but the guys insisted that we needed them there. We didn’t even attempt to argue. We spent about half an hour buying food, drink, dvds, facemasks and magazines, before grabbing a bite to eat in a small cafe on the way back to the house. Nathan had his arm around me while we both sipped on diet cokes. I smiled. Life was good. Jay went to pay and left Alice with me and Nath. We sat chatting for a while until we heard a woman scream.
“OHMIGOD ITS JAY FROM THE WANTED!!!!!” The manic cry was followed by a burst of screams from what sounded like 50 odd teenaged girls. Nathan went rigid. I put a comforting hand on his shoulder, as he put his hood up and his sunglasses on. He signalled for us to do the same. The he took my hand and looked at me seriously.
“On three, run. Don’t worry about Jay, he will meet us back at the house. Ready?” We both nodded. He took a deep breath. “One...two...three!”
