PART 22
We all fell silent before hearing another scream, followed by one that sounded like Nathan. We ran round to the corner and gasped in relief. Siva and Nathan were rolling on the floor laughing. Jay had crashed into Seev on the way back, causing him and Nath to crash and fall. Max and Tom were laughing at us. We had gotten so scared over nothing. We started to laugh at ourselves. Cassie and I went over to help the guys up, who pulled us into warm hugs as a thank you.
“Right,” Siva said authoritavely, “Shall we get going then?” We all nodded and the boys clambered into their seats. Nathan patted a small space next to him, and I noticed that they all had double carts. All of the girls quickly got into place.
“I need all the help I can get.” He whispered into my ear. I laughed at him. He pedalled our carts to the starting line. Jayne stood to the side of us with the flip cam. Before the race started, Jayne counted down from 3.
“ITS WANTED WEDNESDAY!!!!!” We all shouted excitedly. Jayne moved the camera closer to Tom, who was at the end of the line with Lucy.
“Hi I’m Tom, this is Lucy, and today, we have an extra special Wanted Wednesday treat.” She moved down a cart to Max and Chloe.
“Yup, I’m Max, and this is Chloe. As you can probably tell, this isn’t our usual Wanted Wednesday setting.”
“Yes we are in the park today in our carts. I’m Jay, this is Alice, and this can only mean one thing...”
“I’m Siva, and this is Cassie, and today, we are having a carting race!” The camera moved on to me and Nath. I smiled politely.
“And I am Nathan, this is the beautiful Rachel. You guys on twitter have made bets on who will win. The winner will get a very special prize from us.” Jayne stepped back.
“On your marks...get set...” Jayne called, still filming us but well out of the way, “GO!!!”
