Don't Play with Fire

Her eyes met mine, and I felt a spark

After a few sweet words that spark became a flame

I should have known not to play with fire

She walked away without a care

I was just the first in a string of romances

Despite all this, I'd gladly her back like a runaway dog

But my calls seem to fall on deaf ears

Day by day, I need her more and more

I'm no longer in healthy state of mind

Our time apart has made me into a house of cards

And one call from her will blow them over

Gone will be the courage

Gone will be the chance of moving on

All that will remain will be an empty house

I will be burnt out

Holding an empty book of matches
