Friday nights alone might be a regular occurrence these days
And I'll admit without you I've lost someone to shower with praise
I must have given you a lot of reason to believe I can't survive without you
But rest assured you're rather low on the list of things that can make me feel blue
My days in a self-built temple of worship to your purported perfection are now long gone
I've since come to realize this religion was no more than a cult based on a con
I no longer find in your every word and curve salvation
I've found more joy since my time with you finally found its punctuation
So save your charity and self-gratifying guilt
I'm not free falling into depression as if you were my only parachute
Nor am I frantically searching for the nearest look alike or substitute
"Losing" you has been nothing but a blessing
The time you wasted is the only thing about the relationship that I find depressing
