Chapter 16

Jessica POV

"I don't think I've ever felt this angry for someone, other than you, in my life." I say looking at Irene as I sit on a table in old abandoned classroom and dig my nails into my palm.

She growls, glaring out the broken window,"Indeed, restraining myself from hitting them was very hard too."

"Why did you defend us?" Kou asks looking at us one at a time from his seat on another desk. "I mean, you don't even know us, you just met us, and we heard you were friends with the Sakamaki's. So why bother helping us?"

I look at Kou as he stares back at me curiously. I glance at Azusa who is sitting a few desks away and is staring at his arm that is wrapped in bandages.

"We don't like bullies. It doesn't matter what someone has done, no one deserves to be treated like that, And just because someone is different, doesn't mean you have to point it out and insult them for it. It's not like you wanted to be born that way..." I trail off realizing I had said a bit too much. 

"Thank you Jessica, you too Irene." Kou says and I look up at him to see him smiling at me. I smile back, happy that he didn't mind my outburst.

The door opens just then and an unfamiliar voice sounds out,"Kou, who are you talking to?" I glance at Irene who is glaring at the guy that walked in. Behind said guy is Yuma who is smirking at me. "Yuma Mukami." I growl out, glaring at him.

"Sow." He replies, his smirk widening as I stand up and glare at him. 

"Ruki Mukami." I hear Irene say, I look at her and back at the guy by Yuma and glare at him.

"Irene Kairo, lovely to see you again livestock." He says smirking at her. 

She growls and jumps to her feet, but I grab her arm, holding her back, she shoots me a look that says,'Are you strong enough to hold me back?'. I glare at her and turn back to Ruki. "So your Ruki~ You insulted my sister." I say, smiling sweetly. 

"And you must be Yuma. You called my sister a sow." Irene smirks at him, growling low and deadly.

"Ruki, Yuma, apologize to them." Kou's voice rings out from behind us.

Ruki and Yuma look at us and scoff."Apologize? Why?" Yuma says.

Kou gets up and stands protectively beside Irene while Azusa stands protectively beside me. "You...insulted them...we...apologized...for you." Azusa says, looking straight at Yuma.

"They also defended us against those asshole Sakamaki's." Kou pipes in, looking at Ruki with a serious face, that makes him seem almost scary.

"They defended you against the Sakamaki's? Why?" Ruki asks, narrowing his eyes at Irene.

I hear her growl and I tighten my grip on her arm, she sighs and says,"They were insulting your brothers and claiming we belonged to them. I hate being treated as property, but I hate bullies more. Besides we helped them because they didn't insult us right after meeting us." 

"Please just apologize to them." Kou says, stepping forward.

Ruki sighs and walks towards us, stopping infront of Irene."I'm sorry for insulting you, Miss Kairo." He says, bowing his head.

Irene smiles, a beautiful and genuine smile that lights up her tired face,"Your forgiven and please, call me Irene."

Ruki looks up and stares for a second before smiling himself."Thank you and please just call me Ruki.

I let go of Irene's arm as Yuma steps towards me and looks away scratching the back of his neck."I'm sorry for calling you a sow." He grumbles. 

I chuckle,"It's okay, I forgive you, Yuma."

He blushes a bit and grumbles,"Whatever."

I chuckle again and look around me, Azusa is smiling quietly beside me, Ruki and Irene and having a long conversation about a book she took out on world war 2, Kou was looking between the two very confused about what was going on while Yuma kept glancing at me. I smiled happily, thinking of how life is going to get better from here on.

Sooo......I managed to get this chapter online before getting kicked off the computer....Yay me! Sorry it was so short, I tried to make it longer in comparison to the original version I had written on paper.
