Chapter 39

Irene POV

I slam Ruki onto the table top, straddling him and snarling, barely aware that he is trying to reason with me as well as the presence of both my sister and my lover behind me.

"You hurt Luna." My voice comes out in a growl, a growl so low and deadly that I don't remember having heard it in years.....

"Irene! Please! It was an accident!" Ruki cries but it falls on deaf ears as I pull out my dagger and plunge it downwards towards his chest.

A hand grabs my wrist at the last second and yanks the blade from my grasp, then a pair of arms wrap around my waist and pull me off Ruki and teleport me to the dungeon that I have since grown familiar with.

"I'm sorry darling, but you're out of control." Laito's voice comes to me and I slowly shake my head, the blood lust taking a back seat as look up at the man I love.

"Laito......" I say softly and he pulls me into him, his arms encircling my waist and my arms going around his neck.

"Oh gosh.....I almost killed Ruki....." I say, horrified with myself.

"But you didn't. He knows it wasn't your fault." Laito's voice soothes me, his hands rubbing my wings to calm me down.

I blush when a small whimper escapes my throat as Laito's hand move over my sweet spot on my wings.

Laito chuckles and I push him away before he can kiss me.

"No. Not happening. Not right now...." I say and kiss his cheek before leaving the room.

*a few days later*

It had now been a few days since the experiment and the date Luna had with the random guy.

Everyone had since heard of what happened with me and Laito and were constantly teasing me about it as well as teasing Ayato for getting beaten by Luna then hooking up with her after.

Everyone was happy, even Ruki who we found out Reiji had tested a drug on and that drug made him go after the first girl he saw which just so happened to be Luna.

As a result to this, Jessica kicked Reiji's ass and ignored him for the rest of the week, Reiji was less than pleased and responded by ignoring her back.

They eventually made up when I, Rachel and Luna set up a romantic picnic by the lake for them.

Shin had gotten his strength back and it almost rivaled my own, but he never seemed to use it on me....

Dinner was served with its usual running and shoving, mostly from the girls, as the food was put on the table in the dinning room.

Conversations started around the table with ease, even Shu joined in for once, which surprised everyone but Rachel.

Shin however seemed to be feeling left out. I had made sure he sat on my right while Laito sat on my left.

"Irene?" He asks suddenly and I smile at him, aware of how all other conversation had stopped when he spoke.

"Yes, Shin?" I reply kindly, glad he doesn't mind the sudden tension in the air.

"How did you learn to cook?" He asks.

"Well, I read a lot of cook books and I practice a lot. I also used to have to cook for our siblings so I guess that's a bit of a bonus as it gave me more practice." I reply and he nods, going back to eating quietly.

After dinner we all went out separate ways, leaving me in the kitchen to clean up. I didn't mind, I liked being alone and working, it gave me time to think.

I sing the first verse and the chorus of the song Monster by Paramore when I feel a presence behind me.

I feel a small prick in my neck and a growl escapes me as I spin around, a knife in hand to see the room is empty.

"I must be imagining things...." I mutter to myself as I rub the side of my neck, my hand coming away with a tiny bit of blood.

"Definitely can't be possible...I must have scratched myself with the knife or something...." I say softly as I pack away the knife, trying to convince myself.

The next day passes in a blur, my mind far away and soaring above the clouds.

"School tomorrow." Laito says as I lay beside him that night, dressed in one of his shirts and boxers.

I snuggle into his arms and groan,"No, I'm sick, I can't go to school."

I fake a cough for good measure and Laito chuckles. I smile at the sound and he holds me closer.

"You've been distant the whole day. A lot on your mind?" He says suddenly, worry laced into his tone.

"Yea....I guess....just school work though, nothing major." I reply as a yawn escapes me.

"Goodnight babe~"

"Hmm, goodnight....." I reply before falling asleep in the arms of the one I love, for what I didn't know would be the last time.....

Hey guys, so sorry for not updating in a long time, been busy and finally managing to catch up on some well needed sleep.

Also mother nature gives females a lovely monthly gift, I was thinking of adding in a scene where the girls would be on their period and the guys wouldn't know how to handle them....any thoughts on this?
