Chapter 8: The Breakfast Riot

Dagger P.O.V

As Beast and Betty, Peter, Wendy, Jumbo and I all hid in the shadows, we heard a little girl running by. We all looked down and frowned, not wanting to continue our 'chores'. Joker frowned but started playing Tom Tom the Pipers son on his recorder. The little girl looked at the circus poster and said something about taking her brother to see us. She heard the recorder and hesitated slightly before walking down the alleyway towards the music.

"Hello there Darlin'! Do you like circuses then?" With this Joker put on a smile and jumped over the little girl and bowed as she jumped back in surprise.

"It's an honour and a privilege to meet ya M'Lady! I hope you will join us for a spell." He said as he popped flowers out of his wand. She smiled and nodded. Joker stood up and threw the flowers into the air.

"It's show time!" He shouted he shouted as a mist covered everything and the little girl was put into an awake dream state, making everything seem prettier and nicer than it really is. Doll then appeared and started twirling her umbrella as she posed with it. She then danced off, prancing around, making the little miss gasp in admiration. Wendy and Peter then started swinging down.

'Ello' there!" Wendy said as she smiled brightly at the miss.

"Welcome to dreamland!" Peter yelled as he did the same thing.

Joker then started whispering to her how she shouldn't be afraid and how there was a carriage awaiting to take her to dream land as he pointed to a carriage. She started walking towards it, giggling and smiling. I felt a pang of guilt as I saw her face. So innocent and full of life...

Soon, we came into trouble as a guard came across the alley and threw his torch down, running towards us. The little girl seeing nothing but a bear. Without me having to do anything, Jumbo walked out and hit him on the head, cracking his skull and ending his life from blood loss. After this, more guards came across the alley and ran towards us as well. This time, I decided to fend them off as well as I came out and threw a knife into one of the guards head. Right between the eyes. I started juggling my knives and looked back at the little girl, smiling and winked. I then did the same thing to some of the other guards. She looked up at me in shock and she was blushing, she then cheered and clapped her hands, oblivious to the murders occurring in front of her.

Beast then decided to make an appearance and strangled the last guard to death.

Joker then reminded the little girl of the carriage and she got in and it drove away. One of the guards survived my knives and tried to shoot the carriage with his gun until Doll threw her umbrella end into the guard. He fell to the ground but crawled over to Doll, grabbing her ankle.

"She's just a lass. How could you?!" He croaked out, his face showing hatred. Doll aimed the point of the umbrella in the middle of his eyes but hesitated. Joker then jumped to where they were and killed him by giving him one swift blow with his sword. Joker then scolded Doll. I couldn't hear exactly what they were saying. Joker then walked off, leaving Doll behind.

Once we all met up again, we went back to the circus. Sorrow written on all of our faces. When we were back at the circus, we all started getting ready for the day's events.

Ciel P.O.V

As I was sleeping, I felt a hand shake me slightly, trying to wake me up.

"Sebastian..." I mumbled as I heard Freckles' voice instead.

"Oi! What're you doin'? Smile!" He said as I rubbed my eyes and they shot open. I covered my contract seal as I grabbed my eyepatch and quickly put it on.
