FAMILY GAME NIGHT SCHEMES| f i v e
day four
"mama, can uncle baek and the others come over with daddy for game night?"
this question made tawni raise an eyebrow at her children. they never asked if anyone other than their father could come over for game night. "i suppose," she started, "i guess i'll call them." tawni finished, giving maya and lukas a smile.
"no need!" baekhyun's voice echoed through the house. tawni crossed her arms as her older friend walked into the kitchen. "baekhyun, what have i told you about just walking into the house." she scolded with a laugh.
baekhyun shrugged his shoulders and gave tawni a smile. "did you forget that you gave me a key?" the twenty-four year old chuckled, making the younger woman face palm at her idiocy. "anywho, what did you cook?" he asked, his smile growing.
tawni let a laugh escape her lips at baekhyun's curiousity. "i'm making rotel." she answered, knowing how much the guys loved her rotel dip. baekhyun yelled loudly, throwing hid arms in the air happily.
"it's a christmas miracle!!!"

everyone arrived one by one, and the only person that they were waiting on was chanyeol. sehun groaned, "aish, what's taking hyung so long." he complained. "he'll be here sehun, don't get your panties in a twist." jongin chuckled, earning a glare from his younger friend. "i'll —" sehun started before tawni cut him off.
"oh sehun, if you finish that sentence, i'll —" tawni warned. "sorry tawni." sehun apologized, the younger girl still scaring him a bit even though they've been friends for a while. his hyungs snickered at their younger friend being scolded.
the doorbell rang and tawni opened the door to see chanyeol standing on the doorstep. "hey." chanyeol greeted quietly, earning a small nod from the shorter girl. height wise, tawni was like a child compared to chanyeol's 6'1 frame — he towered over her.
tawni stepped to the side so chanyeol could walk into the house. "daddy!" maya exclaimed happily, running over to him and jumping into his arms. chanyeol grinned and picked up his youngest child, "my baby girl!" chanyeol chuckled, kissing her head.
lukas walked over and gave her father a hug. "hey dad." the ten year old greeted with a grin. chanyeol's grin got wider as he ruffled his son's hair. "hey lukas." happiness was evident in his voice.
tawni watched with a smile as chanyeol interacted with their children. she had joy seeing the smiles on maya and lukas' faces when they were joking around with their father. she missed seeing that around the house every day.
baekhyun was also watching, a smile on his face at the sight of his best friends. "this plan is coming along nicely." he mumbled quietly, though loud enough for the other seven to hear him.
"let's get this party started!!" jongdae exclaimed, earning a cheer from everyone else in the room. maya grinned, "let's play hide and seek!" the eight year old suggested happliy.
"one, two, three—" baekhyun started. "not it!!!" ten voices yelled, leaving both chanyeol and tawni standing dumbfounded. "wait a minute, i wasn't ready!" chanyeol protested while crossing his arms.
baekhyun snickered. "sorry chanyeol, you know the rules." he teased, "now start counting yoda!" baekhyun ran off before chanyeol could grab the back of his shirt.
chanyeol groaned and looked down at tawni who stood next to him, beginning to count to ten. once he finished, the pair began to look around the house for everyone. "geez, where are they?" tawni groaned in disbelief, not seeing anyone.
"they're probably in the supply closet." chanyeol stated while making his way to the door that was at the end of the hallway. tawni followed chanyeol down the hallway and into the basement. "chan, why would they be in here?" the younger girl asked in confusion.
"have you met baekhyun?" chanyeol chuckled, making tawni think about it for a second before nodding her head in agreement. "yeah, good point — he's a strange little man." tawni giggled as she made her way down the stairs.
they both looked around the basement, only to find that no one was there. "they're not down here." tawni sighed, "we'll probably have more luck looking upstairs again."
click.
both of their heads shot up. "he didn't.." chanyeol started as he made long strides towards the door, closing his hand around the knob and twisting it a couple times. "that sneaky bastard." he groaned.
tawni's eyes widened. she didn't like enclosed spaces, especially in the dark. the basement that was in her house wasn't like a regular spacious one, it was sort of like a storage closet — and it was very small.
"hold up," tawni started with a frown. "you mean to tell me that we're stuck down here until they decide to open the door?""sadly, yes." chanyeol answered.
tawni let out a groan and slid down the wall. "of all things they could do, why did they choose to lock us in the basement?" she whimpered quietly as she buried her head in her knees. chanyeol frowned, knowing how much tawni hated being in small spaces.
"hey, look at me." he said quietly, grabbing her chin softly and pulling it up so she'd look at him. "you're going to be okay, i'm not going anywhere." chanyeol assured, giving her a soft smile.

"baekhyun, are you sure we should be doing this?" sehun asked his hyung hesitantly. "they'll be fine." baekhyun chuckled.
"but we won't!"
ring. ring. ring.
seeing that it was chanyeol, baekhyun chuckled and answered the call. "baekhyun speaking, how may i help you?" he answered jokingly, snickering when he heard his younger friend growl in annoyance.
"baekhyun, i'll give you five minutes to come open this door." chanyeol growled out in korean. "calm down channy boy, you'll be fine—" baekhyun started before getting cut off.
"it's not me i'm worried about baekhyun!" chanyeol's deep voice boomed angrily, making the older male flinch slightly.
"you'll thank me later chanyeol."
