christmas day
"mama, santa came!"
tawni opened her eyes to see her children standing in front of her, smiles on both of their faces. "merry christmas." the mother giggled, getting out of the bed and following them into the living room.
the night before, tawni stayed up until 1:00 wrapping presents. she didn't want maya and lukas to see her wrap them, so she just waited until they were asleep in bed.
she watched her children with a smile as they unwrapped their presents. hearing footsteps behind her, tawni turned around to see chanyeol leaning against the wall. things were a bit awkward between the two of them since chanyeol blurted that question — and they didn't talk to each other for the rest of the day.
but she couldn't just ignore the man on christmas. tawni gave him a small smile, "merry christmas chanyeol." she said quietly, earning a nod from him. "merry christmas." chanyeol replied with a smile.
"mama, look at what we've gotten you." lukas said as he walked over to her, a small bag in his hands. he gave the bag to his mother and watched as she opened it. tawni's smile got bigger when she saw the watch that she wanted. chanyeol watched with amusement as he saw her eyes light up like a christmas tree.
"oh my goodness, how—" tawni started before getting cut off. "the kids told me that you wanted that specific watch, so i took them to the jewelers and they picked it out." chanyeol said with a chuckle. tawni pulled both of her children in for a hug. "thank you, i love you both so much." she said while kissing their heads.
"love you too mommy." maya grinned, "you're going to love the gift daddy got you."
chanyeol's eyes widened slightly as he listened to his daughter's words. tawni raised an eyebrow and turned to look at him. "oh, am i now?" she asked, turning back to her two children who both nodded their heads.

later that day — around five — the doorbell rang, signalling that one of the guys arrived. tawni walked over to the door, opening it to see minseok and jongin. she smiled and gave them both a hug, "merry christmas!" she exclaimed happily to her older friends.
"merry christmas!" they said in unison, walking into the house when she invited them in. jongin turned around, "the guys are on their way — they should be here in the next twenty minutes."
one by one, the rest of the guys arrived. every christmas, they all would gather around and exchange gifts that they've gotten for each other.
"hey channy boy." baekhyun called out, getting an eyeroll from his younger friend. "why don't you give tawni her christmas gift?" he suggested with a snicker.
chanyeol gave his hyung a light glare before walking out of the room and coming back a few seconds later. he walked over to tawni and stood in front of her. "merry christmas." he said with a small smile as he handed her a small box. tawni looked up at him in shock, "chanyeol, what is this?"
chanyeol chuckled. "you'll see — just open it."
he watched as tawni opened the box and quickly got what he needed out of his pocket. tawni frowned — it was an empty box!
"chanyeol, if this is some twisted way to get back at me for not answering you question yesterday, then—" she said, looking up and stopping mid-sentence.
chanyeol was down on one knee and held the ring he had bought a few days ago in his hand. the guys looked at each other with knowing grins on their faces. "chanyeol—" tawni started before getting cut off.
"will you marry me?"
tawni smiled, tearing up slightly. "yes."
chanyeol grinned and took her hand, sliding the ring onto her finger. he got up from the floor and quickly wrapped her in a tight embrace. "i love you." he said quietly, looking down at her. "i love you too." tawni grinned.
"and guess what?!" baekhyun interrupted, earning a groan from chanyeol. "what man? what?" chanyeol sighed in annoyance. tawni looked up and giggled when she saw what he was up to. confused, chanyeol looked down at her.
"what's so funny?"
"just shut up and kiss me under the mistletoe."

i am so happy to tell you guys that 'ten days' is offically finished. this story has been so fun to write, and i loved getting the feedback that some of you commented during the course of writing it! i was originally going to publish this on christmas day as my gift to you guys....but i ended up falling asleep as i wrote this chapter 😂💀.
