PROLOGUE | part three

     byun baekhyun watched with a small frown as his best friend made his way around the house, checking to see if his kids had everything packed before their mother came to get them. it's been two years since chanyeol and his wife, tawni, had their divorce and everything had been different since.

    the only time the pair interacted with each other was when tawni either dropped off the kids to stay with chanyeol for the weekend, or to come pick them up.

      "uncle baek."

    baekhyun looked over to see his niece and nephew, maya and lukas standing next to the couch. "hey guys." he said with a smile as he turned his full attention on them.

    "what's up?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. lukas sighed, "we want mom and dad to get back together." the ten year old mumbled quietly. baekhyun sighed and ruffled his nephew's hair. "i know kid...we all do." the twenty four year old stated with a frown.

     maya's eyes lit up, making baekhyun's eyebrows furrow. "what are you up to?" he asked curiously. "if you help us get mama and daddy back together, that'll be your christmas gift to us." the eight year old said with a grin.

     baekhyun chuckled and nodded. "okay, i'll help you." he said with a smile, "but we may need a bit of help from the rest of your uncles."

     maya squealed happily and squeezed baekhyun into a hug. "thank you uncle baekhyun." she said with a smile. "anything for you guys." baekhyun said with a chuckle.

    chanyeol walked back into the living room, with his children's bags in one hand and his phone in the other, and raised an eyebrow. "what's going on?" he asked in confusion.

    baekhyun let go of maya. "oh, i just told maya what i was getting her for christmas." he said, giving the kids a knowing grin.

"now, i just have to get the guys to help me." baekhyun thought to himself.
