day four & five
11:45 pm; day four
"you'll thank me later chanyeol."
baekhyun's words floated through his mind and it was driving him crazy. "what the hell did he mean?" he groaned in annoyance. there were times where his hyung had gone too far — and this was one of those times.
chanyeol sat with his back against the wall, looking up at the ceiling until he heard a cough coming from tawni. "you okay?" he asked her with a frown, earning a nod as a response. "it's just cold." tawni mumbled quietly with a yawn, hugging herself so she could stay warm.
chanyeol began to take off his sweater so he could give it to her. tawni stopped him, "you don't have to give me your sweater chan." she said quietly. he shook his head and wrapped the oversized sweater over tawni's shoulders. "you'll need it more than i will." chanyeol protested, hinting to the tank top and yoga capris that tawni was wearkng.
silence.
"thank you.." tawni said quietly, breaking the awkward silence between them. chanyeol gave her a slight nod, "no problem."
this was actually the first time since the divorce that they were in a room alone together — and it was awkward. it was as if they were complete strangers, only if they didn't have children together.
12:30 am; dayfive
"how've you been?"
chanyeol's deep voice broke the silence again. "good, i guess." tawni answered quietly, "it's been hard." she continued, turning her head to look at him. chanyeol furrowed his eyebrows slightly at her. "how so?" he asked curiously.
"for starters, i can barely sleep." tawni admitted with a frown, "i'm not used to sleeping by myself — even if it has been two years since we split." she mumbled. chanyeol frowned and wrapped an arm around tawni's shoulder, making the smaller girl look up at him in confusion.
"since we're going to be here for a while — you might as well get some sleep." chanyeol suggested quietly, bringing her closer to him. not saying anything, tawni nodded her head slightly, scooting closer — only to have him grab her waist and sit her on his lap.
"chanyeol, what are you—" tawni started before getting cut off. "just go to sleep tawni." chanyeol mumbled quietly, a yawn escaping his lips.
