I glanced over at the young man slumped in his chair by my exit. He was snoring softly, his brown hair flopped over his face.
Keys dangled in his loose fingers.
Keys to my freedom.
As I crept towards the Black Shadow, I felt a twinge of guilt.
Why did I feel guilt?! When all he has done to me is kidnap me and hurt my friends and family. I've never done anything wrong to him...right?

Nate's POV:
"Come on, I really want it." The little girl with the wide green eyes whispers.
I struggle to say something, something other than the usual words in my nightmare, but all that comes out is a whiny;
"I don't wanna steal it."
Suddenly the dream shifts.
"Come on Nathan!" A lean boy with greasy hair whines. "Just try it!" He pleads, shoving a cigarette in my face.
"I don't want to..." I whisper.
The 10 year old boys surrounding me laugh. "Natypoo is afraid!CHICKEN!"
I stare at my shoes.
It shifts again. A flood of mis-matched memories swarm me.
In one moment, as a 9 year old boy I see my old teacher Miss Clark, shaking her head.
"Why Nathan? Why would you steal?" She says, frowning.
In the next moment I am lying in my bedroom as a 12 year old boy, listening to my drunk mum scream;
"You bitch!! Its your fault Nate's a screw-up!!! Your fault!!!!!!", at someone on the phone.
I sense something in my nightmare. Something isn't right.....
I force myself to close my eyes in the memory/nightmare, forcing myself to wake.
My eyes open. I jerk up from my slumped position on the chair, only to see Cassie jerk away from me. I stare at her, narrowing my eyes.
"W-what?" She tries to asks innocently, but failing miserably.
I glare at her, then suddenly crack up laughing.
"What?" Cassie demands.
***********
Cassie's POV:
I leaned over Nate, fingers reaching hesitantly for the keys.
Suddenly he frowns in his sleep.
I freeze, then pull my hand back towards me...
Just in time.
Nate jerks awake and I jerk backwards.
He narrows his eyes.
I gulp nervously, and try to compose the face of an innocent. "W-what?" I mentally slap myself. A stutter,Cassie, really? I think furiously.
Nate interrupts my thoughts suddenly by cracking up laughing like an idiot.
"What?" I demand, glaring at him.
Nate stops laughing, wiping a imaginary tear from his eye. "Oh wow.."
"What?" I repeat, for the 3rd time.
