Nate's POV:
Cassie's words slice through me like a knife.
"You. Are. A. Monster."
I feel anger at her for saying that to me.
I feel hurt, I was just trying to help me her by bringing in Jade.
I feel betrayal. Again.
******
I sat on the ancient couch, my mind blank.
How could she?
How could I?
Why did I bring her here in the first place?
Oh right...Revenge...
Why did I let her take advantage of me & go shopping?
Why did I almost kiss Natalie?
Why did I bring Jade here?
Stupid unanswered questions.
I rubbed my hands over my face and sighed. The worst thing was hearing Cassie sob quietly in my bedroom.
Maybe I should go see her......
No.
Jade was perched awkwardly on a chair across the room from me. It really pissed me off that her face was completely calm, like she hadn't done anything wrong.
She shouldn't of pushed Cassie over the edge like that, especially when she was so fragile.
I sighed and considered my options.
* I could tell Jade to leave and see if Cassie was okay
*Or I could ring Natalie and we could go somewhere. That would make me feel better.
Why don't I go comfort Cassie or whatever girls do, then hang out with Natalie? Yeah, that's what I'll do.
I heaved myself off the old couch and trudged over to the door of my bedroom. My fingers reached for the handle....

Cassie's POV: (That's Point Of View, Melissa :p )
I stroked my fingers over the crumpled photo, tears running down my face.
My hair was flying behind me in the wind, I was clutching Mum. My mouth was open in a shriek. My mum takes my hand, and together we jump.
It was a photocopy of a photo of my Mum & I just before we jumped off a waterfall on holiday down South.
I don't know how it got in the pocket of my filthy jacket. Even today I don't care.
I stroked my Mum's frozen face again and again.
The ache in my chest is unbearable.
My salty tears drip onto the picture and make a puddle. I gasp as the water spreads over the small rectangle, leaving it limp. The ink smudges.
I hiccup and sob, I can't help my tears but when the piece of paper with a memory on it slowly becomes a soggy mess, I burst into fresh tears.
I hear the doorknob twist.
I am sobbing and I do not care who sees me. If it is Jade I should probably apologise, she was just trying to help, but I don't want to.
It's Nate, and for a moment I'm relieved, but then I remember he's the reason my only proof of my mum is now lying in a small puddle.
"Go away." I'm frustrated when my voice doesn't come out calm and strong like I'd hoped, but as a whisper.
Nate flinches but continues towards me.

Nate's POV:
I open the door, revealing Cassie hunched over sitting with something in her hands.
She's crying and dressed in that new black lace dress.
She turns to face me and whispers; "Go away."
It's hurt me to interfere with whatever she's going through right now but I keep walking.
I outstretch my hand hesitantly. Her bright green eyes burn into me. They narrow, but I can see them welling up again.
"Don't." She growls quietly. A mental spear full of hate in her voice pierces me. I flinch again but keep reaching.
My warm hand lands on her bare shoulder. She does not move.
I sit down next to her. "Cassie," I begin but she interrupts me.
"I know," She sighs, turning to face me. "I shouldn't of exploded at Jade. She was just trying to help."
Her eyes look into my soul again and she adds; "Please leave."
I sigh. "Please, just listen." My puppy eyes must be good because she went silent.
I suddenly found her bright green eyes mesmerising, and stared into them. They met my emerald ones.
"Cass, you can trust me."
She look hesitant but managed to keep her gaze locked onto me. "Can I?"
I didn't answer, but leaned closer.
