Mended (A Liam Payne Fanfic)

Chapter 7

After a restless sleep I awoke to a tragic whimper. Standing up is difficult after a bad night, my limbs always feel numb and each bruise a little more tender than before.

"Baby I'm so so sorry, I don't know what happened, I don't remember why I was so angry." Colt hollered. I didn't want him to remember anything about Liam, in fear he may hurt him. I sighed,

"Colt I-"

"N-no. Don't say that you don't love me anymore. Everything is exactly as it was from the start, I love you."

"No no no, I love you, very very much,"

"Then what is it? What's wrong?"

"Nothing, it's alright Colt," I could feel the tears swell up, "it's always alright. I have to go to work now baby, okay?" I whispered. He shook his head, his brown eyes having a tint of red from his weeping. I stepped into the bathroom and looked at myself, worse than I've looked in a long time. This never used to happen. I don't know where it all went wrong. Each day I lather myself with makeup fearing my coworkers dubious assumptions and strange looks.

How could you allow this to happen. Look at yourslef, bloody, battered and bruised. You're a goddamn trainwreck, Addison.

At times I didn't think I could last much longer in this world, self harm not relieving any pain as the harm Colt inflicted on me was always much worse than anything I could inflict on myself. My entire rib area was one large dark spot. My lips and eyes bruised. Trails of blue spots up and down my legs. I leaned over and spit the unpleasant taste I had in my mouth into the sink. Looking down at the blood dripping into the drain of the vanity, I realized that something should be done and should have been done a long long time ago, however my fear and love for Colt outlasted any other emotion I developed towards him and his actions. Work was my safe place, my favorite place to be, simply because Liam always made me feel like it was finally okay to be me, and that was I was enough for him.
