Today was graduation day!! You were finally done high school and couldn't wait to get out into the real world. Of course you'd miss your friends, you loved them to death; but they all wanted to stay in this small boring town, and probably would for the rest of their lives.

You were different from them in that way; you wanted to go to a big city, explore, and make something out of yourself. Not that your friends would be failures; it's just that they would be happy working on their parent's farms, or near the community. That wasn't your style. So, the day after grad, you were moving to Edmonton, a couple provinces over.

You had always wanted to live in Edmonton, ever since you were a little girl. The Oilers were your favourite hockey team and you loved the mall and great outlets they had out there, but the main reason was that it was so far and different from the small town you were used to.

Grad went well, and you said an emotional goodbye to all of your friends, but you knew you could always text and FaceTime them, and you'd come home to visit occasionally. The next morning you woke up at 6 am, ready to go.

You said goodbye to your tearful parents, and got into your car which was already packed full of stuff. You already had an apartment picked out, and your parents even made an advanced payment for July and August, so you didn't have to worry about it.

After a couple of days of driving, you had seen the city lights from a distance. You had slept in your car a couple hours every night, but since today was the day you were getting the keys to the apartment, you drove through the night since you had to get there for 8 am. It was 4:30 am right now, so it was still dark.

As you drove further into the city, you became more amazed. There were many bright lights, and old buildings- much different than the small town you were used to. Your apartment was downtown, near the Rexall Place, the building the Edmonton Oilers played in. The real reason you chose downtown as your location was because it was near the Cosmetology school you were going to attend in the fall. Being near Rexall was just a huge bonus.

You went to a grocery store that opened early to get some food to last you a couple of days, since you would be busy all day unpacking and probably wouldn't have time to shop. It was finally 7:30, so you drove back to your apartment, car full of everything you'd need.

The meeting with the landlord and real estate agent went quickly, and you were happily unpacking all of your stuff. You decided that it would be best if you went to buy a bed today, since you couldn't fit your bed from home into your car. You went down and drove to the Brick, knowing that they were having a bed sale.

You walked into the Brick and started laying down on different beds. You were lost in thought while laying on one when you felt the bed sink down beside you.

"Um..." you started, looking at the young man who looked about your age laying next to you.
"Hey beautiful!" said the man, winking after he said that. What a flirt.
That's when you realized who it was.
"Oh my God, you're Ryan Nugent-Hopkins!" you said, trying not to sound like a huge fan girl.
"Yes I am! I'm really sorry about invading your space.. I lost a bet and this is what the loser had to do... But I got lucky since Taylor chose a girl as beautiful as you to creep on," he said, smiling.

You blushed and smiled.

"Well that's very nice of you to say, thanks. But I really need to pick out a bed today so..." you started. It's not that you didn't want to hang out with Ryan, but you needed to keep your priorities straight.
"Tell you what," he started. "How about when you pick out a bed, I'll come over to help you set it up. Wouldn't want you to hurt yourself setting up a heavy bed alone." he suggested.

"Yeah, I think we can make that work," you said happily, hardly able to believe what was happening.

You told him your name so he could add you into his phone, then he turned to go.
"Don't forget to text me Y/N, I can't wait to hang out with you," he said, winking at you.

Moving to Edmonton was a very good choice.
