Valley of the Gods, Utah - July, 1969
Together, Amy, Zoë, Pietro, Wanda, and Clint were running from their lives across the plains, chased by a four-wheel drive. Another vehicle came from the other direction and they changed tack. Unfortunately, though, this direction led them only to the top of the cliff. They turned, panting, to face the cars as they pulled up, a familiar man getting out.
"Canton," Clint nodded.
"Agent Barton," Canton returned. "Miss Pond, Miss Maximoff, Miss Di Angelo, Mr Maximoff."
Amy stared as another man brought out a selection of black bags and laid them on the ground. "What are those?"
"They are body bags," Wanda told her, swallowing hard.
"Yes, they are," Canton confirmed.
"They're empty." Pietro raised an eyebrow.
"How about that?"
"Do you even know why you're doing this?" Zoë demanded. "Can you even remember the warehouse?"
Canton paused for a moment as if remembering, then changed his mind, shooting them all down.

Area 51, Nevada.
The Doctor had been trapped in that strait-jacket for a long while - judging by the beard he'd managed to grow. He was also shackled to a chair, guards building a prison around him.
"We found Zoë Di Angelo," Canton announced, walking over to him. "And her friends. They had strange markings on their arms. Do you know what they are?" He showed the Time Lord a picture of Zoë's arm, clearly showing she was on the ground.
"Why don't you ask her?" the Doctor suggested, a glint of malice in his eyes.

New York City.
McKenzie looked down at her bare arms to find tally marks on them. Her evening gown brushed the floor as she hurried through the skyscraper, dodging scaffolding. Her breath hitched in her throat as she almost walked into two of the creatures. "I see you," she told them, tallying two marks on her arm. "I see you."
"Angel!" Canton called. "Angel!" She whipped around to see where they were, then started running. "Go! Go! Go!" They found her at an open wall, backing her up to the edge. "Don't move," Canton warned. "It's over."
"They're here, Canton," she warned. "They're everywhere."
"I know," he nodded, rolling his eyes. "America's being invaded."
"You were invaded a long time ago," she told him, her voice hardening. "America is occupied."
"You're coming with us, Angel," Canton stated. "There's no way out this time."
McKenzie smiled, shaking her head at him. "There's always a way out." And with that, she stepped backwards off the edge of the building.
Canton's eyes widened and he leapt forwards, only to see her brilliant smile shining up at him as she plummeted through the evening air.

"We found the Angel," Canton said later, standing back to allow the wall to be constructed.
"These bricks, what are they made of?" the Doctor asked curiously. "Where is she?"
"She ran," Canton told him. "Off the fiftieth floor."
"I'd say zero balance dwarf star alloy." The Doctor continued as if he hadn't heard, although he silently noted the time. "The densest material in the universe. Nothing gets through that. You're building me the perfect prison. And it still won't be enough."
