"Don't you even think about it, Kez."

"I won't hesitate, bitch!"

An exasperated sigh. "Stop threatening me with vine references! I don't even understand what you're saying to me!"

"You're tearing this marriage apart!"

"Oh, cry me a table, Karen."

"Who the everliving fuck is Karen?!"

"Oh, I could kill you right now."

A derisive laugh. "Bold of you to assume I don't already want to die."

"Is that another vine reference? Stop with the vine references!"

"I will face God and yeet myself backwards into hell."

"All right, that's it. You're going down."

"I'm yelling Simba!"

It was at this point that Zoë burst into the room to find her parents aiming guns at each other at point blank range. "What the hell is going on?" she demanded, eyes wide and out of breath. "Are you two insane?"

The Doctor blinked. "Yep, why?"

"Most people play paintball as a stealth game," Zoë explained, shaking her head. "They don't usually shout memes at the top of their lungs to taunt their opponents into wasting ammo on themselves."

McKenzie grinned. "But it worked."

"Wait," Zoë blinked, realising her mother wasn't wearing her visor. "Oh God. Tell me you weren't echolocating with vine references."

The brunette bit her lip. "Uh..."

"Well?"

"You told me not to tell you," McKenzie said with an innocent grin.

Zoë sighed. "That's it." She took the Doctor's gun and unloaded the rest of his ammo on them both.

Pietro appeared in the doorway. "What's--" Then he burst out laughing at the sight of the Doctor and McKenzie, both of whom were dripping in neon green and orange paint as a result of the ambushes they had laid for each other earlier in the game. "I heard shouting and shooting," he explained. "I was not expecting... this." He started laughing again.

McKenzie grinned. "Yeah, well, I'm glad you two have arrived. You'll make up the numbers for us to make teams for round two."

Zoë blinked. "Round two?"

"Yeah," the Doctor grinned. "The water fight." Zoë flinched as her mother landed a solid hit on her with a super soaker.

The blonde gritted her teeth, taking the water gun she was handed and cocking it. "Oh, this is war."

And with that, the soaking began.

Later that night, the Doctor and McKenzie were snuggled up in bed, having successfully worked out in the form of water fight and paintballing. The Doctor was just drifting off when he heard his wife's drowsy voice as she snuggled closer. "I love you, bitch," she mumbled, pressing a kiss to his shoulder.

He smiled sleepily, kissing her hair. "And I ain't ever gonna stop lovin' you, bitch."
