Once upon a time, a girl was born. Well, technically, she was created, and technically there was another girl too, but that's a whole other story--one that's already been told.

So, once upon a time, a girl was born--a girl with vivid ginger hair and the brightest blue eyes--and she was born to a man and a woman who saved worlds.

This couple had a home and a family, and they mostly lived on one particular planet that they all worked together to protect. That planet was called Earth. As time went on, the family grew and shrank and grew again, with many members helping to defend Earth from all those who would threaten it. Each of those members had their own brilliant stories, but for now, we'll focus on two of them in particular--the story of an extremely young woman and an extremely old man and how they found each other in the wrong century and fell in love.

"Are you ready?" Zoë asked, a smile of anticipation gracing her lips.

Zosia stared at herself in the mirror, at the vintage updo her hair had been coiffed into, at the vintage wedding dress she now wore, ready to marry her vintage love. "I look..."

"You look gorgeous," Natasha assured her, pinning the last strand of McKenzie's hair into place with a bobby pin. "We should've called Life Alert in case Steve faints."

"You really think he'll like it?"

"Seeing you like this could've thawed him out twenty years ago," McKenzie told her. "He'll love it, trust me."

"Relax," Wanda told her, her eyes flashing red. "You're just nervous. Steve's the same, I promise."

Zosia blinked. "Wait, he is?"

"You don't think it's too much?" Steve asked doubtfully, staring at his reflection in the mirror.

"Да, it's fine," Pietro assured him. "According to Wanda, Zosie's nervous, too."

"Huh. Where did you even get this thing anyway, Clint?" Steve was wearing his old army uniform, something Clint had dug out of storage.

The archer looked up from tying his tie, grinning. "Nick kept all your stuff from the 40s. Thought it'd be fun for parties."

"Well, he was right about that," Tony commented, raising his eyebrows. "Zosia's going to love it."

"That she will," the Doctor agreed enthusiastically. "Now, just one question. Will there be cake?"

There was a knock on the door, and McKenzie sped over, slipping out before the others could see who was there. "I'm so glad you could make it," she grinned, hugging her brother.

"Me too," Captain Jack Harkness smiled. "She in there?"

"Yeah," McKenzie nodded. "We're all ready. I guess we're waiting on the boys. I'll run you over."

Jack waved a hand. "Yeah, sure. We'll let you know when it's time."

***

"He's here," the Doctor announced suddenly, heading for the door and opening it to reveal Jack grinning in a classic tuxedo.
