Here's Chapter 2 off to the right is what i think Angie looks like she's s'cute!!xD
I stand there, frozen. Every detail I relive at night, now haunts me during the day. My mom making me hide, two men stabbing her while I watch, the way her body thumped on the ground, and the way she smiled at me for the last time.
I slowly look around the police station and see that news has already traveled around about my mom and I. All the officers were the same expression, the one I hate the most, pity. Its that expression that made me not want to reveal my horrible past, the reason I try and block it out. People and there stupid pity always asking if 'I'm alright' or 'I'm sorry for your lose'.
“What are you all looking at? I'm pretty sure crime hasn't miraculously stopped,” I sneer and storm out to the hallway to find John. I understand why Johns mad because he's shared all his secrets with me and I didn't tell him something that could be important to the case.
I walk out to see John leaning against the wall by the elevator.
“John...” I'm cut off by John.
“Why didn't you tell me?” he asks and I can hear the hurt in his voice. Which just amplifies my guilt.
“I didn't want to have to relive that day over again," I reply in a small voice with my head hung in shame.
There's silence for several seconds before he takes a deep breath and walks over to me and takes me in a big hug that makes me feel a little better. He pulls back and looks at me with pity.
“Don't look at me like that,” I tell him looking away.
“Sorry. You know we're going to have to tell the captain, right? I mean the cases are really similar.” I know he's right but doesn't make it any easier.
“Yeah, I know," I inhale and walk towards the captains office.
After about an hour or so of telling captain about my mom and actually getting sympathy from him, we get in a heated argument.
“You can't stay on the case you have a personal connection to it!" he yells. Urgh dudes pissing me off.
“You can't take me off. 8 years is a long time if it was the same guys,” I scream in his face. I take a deep breath trying to calm my anger. “Look we don't know for sure if its the same men, I mean even the ME says that the victim died slowly, my mom died almost immediately. If the two cases end up being connected then you can take me off but for now you need me on the case.” He seems to be thinking about then he nods.
“Fine, but keep me updated,” he ordered. He shoes us out and I walk to my desk and recline in my chair putting my converse up on the desk.
“Do you really think the cases aren't related?” I heard John mutter.
“Yeah 8 years is too long. Just because they have some similarities doesn't mean there related,” I sighed putting my feet back down and leaning over to talk to John.
“Yeah, I suppose you're right," he chuckles.
“When am I wrong?” I joke with my partner. He was about to say something when my phone rang. I picked it up, recognizing it was from the lab down in the basement of the buildings.
“Yeah?”
“Hey, Amber.” Ah, Angela.
“Hey Angie.” Angela was a nice girl. She was the only other girl here my age. “What's up?”
“Oh, well I got the skin from under Alison Craters nails. The results are a little... strange. Why don't you come down and take a look," I mumbled 'okay' and hung up.
