It was already late. The boy thought it was better to go to bed. He was excessively tired and he just wanted to sleep.

After spending the whole afternoon doing homework in the office, he went upstairs and moved to his bedroom after a quick walk through the bathroom to urinate and brushing his teeth.

His father was already sleeping and his mother had gone to have dinner with her workmates so she would arrive a bit late.

Frank went into his bedroom and he quickly got into bed.

This time he really tried to ignore it. He was convinced. It was stupid to worry about it. But it wasn't worry, it was rather interest, curiosity.

Even so, he couldn't resist it.

Since a couple of days ago, everynight he could observe a strange light from the window of his bedroom that led to a small terrace. Sometimes that light appeared along with a sound which reminded him of a flapping or a little squeak of a rodent. But it wasn't an unpleasant sound, the one that that squeak produced. It was sweet and even somehow attractive.

"Curiosity killed the cat", he remembered.

But the cat died knowing something new.
