5.JUST TONIGHT

When he woke up, the first thing Frank did was wondering how the hell he had got into his bed last night since, for some reason, he believed to remember being in the terrace the moment he fell asleep. But maybe it had been just a too realistic dream.

After he got dressed up, he went to the bathroom to urinate and washing his face. It was when he checked the mirror when it all fell into place.

He discovered two tiny spots in his neck. At first he thought they were mosquito bites but they were perfectly lined up and there wasn't any inflammation around them. They didn't hurt or caused him itching, either. In adittion, the distance between them...

Frank's heart stopped beating the moment he figured out that the distance between them could perfectly be the same as the distance between two fangs. "That's impossible" he thought, but that made him recall it all.

The light, the shadow, the strange boy, his frozen hand, his transformation into what was probably a bat. The visitor from last night... Was he a vampire?

Frank would have burst in laughs at his own silliness in other circumstances. But the memories were too fresh and real to be a lie. He didn't discard the possibility that he was maybe going crazy, either. He felt so alone... He needed somebody. Somebody he could explain that situation to knowing that person wouldn't laugh at him.

Everything was a shit.

As always, that wasn't the best day for Frank. Once he got home he didn't even try to do his homework because his discouragement impeded him do anything. He felt everything was just getting worse and the world was darkening and falling over him just like his tears slipped down his cheeks and fell on the mattress of his bed in that moment. Frank closed his eyes and, once again, darkness wrapped him to sleep.

Darkness, his old friend.

When he woke up his parents were already home. The boy could smell the dinner her mother was cooking and went to the living room.

"Have you done your homework?" his father asked once he was there.

"Yes" he lied.

Even eating turned to require a huge effort to Frank, that day.

Feeling weak, the boy managed to get into bed, not before checking if there was something strange outside in the terrace. For some reason he couldn't comprehend, an empty feeling of disappointment got into his chest when he didn't see any light or silhouette.

Gerard had made sure he had eaten before visiting that curious kid. It was supposed a vampire couldn't bite the same human more than once, it would be even worse if he got to the third time, but Frank's blood was deliciously irresistible so it was better that he wasn't hungry when he saw him. It was alos supposed that one of his kind wasn't allowed to get more than one prey for night and that they had to come back to their cave inmediately after, but that night he would make an exception.

"Just tonight" he promised himself.
