I Won't Ever Let You Go

Chapter 10

Today mum was watching Brea, seeing as I had to work again. Whenever I had to leave her and go somewhere, the days always seemed to drag by.
"How was she today?" I asked taking my coat off and hanging it by the door.
"She couldn't keep anything down so she didn't get her medicine." Was moms reply.
"Ok thanks for watching her mum. Would you like to stay and have dinner with us?"
"I better not, I need to get home to your father."
"Ok. I love you." I said giving her a kiss.
"I love you too Lukey." Was her reply before she left.
I went upstairs and made sure that Phoenix was doing his homework then I checked on Brea.
She was asleep so I didn't bother her.

Later I gave her some dinner and she took her medicine before going back to sleep.

I woke up at 1 am to give her her medicine again. I went down to the kitchen and got a cup of applesauce and a spoon then I got her medicine from the bathroom upstairs.
"Baby, it's time to take your medicine again." I said turning on her lamp. She just turned away from me.
"Brea please." I said again but she still wouldn't let me help her set up.
After several more tries I was about ready to give up. She never acted like this. I was beginning to worry because she always cooperated so easily.
"Breanna I need you to take this, it will help you feel better." I knew it wouldn't, but maybe, just maybe it would help this time. "I hate seeing you sick like this." I said with tears starting to roll down my cheeks.
She looked me in the eye and she finally started cooperating. She sat up and I fed her the applesauce then she took her medicine.
"I love you princess." I said as I tucked her back in. She was already falling asleep again so there was no reply.

Around 4:30 I woke up. Breanna was sick once more.
I ran to her bedroom where she was puking into a trash can. It was blood she was throwing up. Once she stopped I cleaned her up.
I went to my room and told Courtney because I didn't know what to do.
"We need to take her to the hospital." She said.
I quickly changed out of my pjs into some sweat pants and a t shirt and pulled a beanie over my crazy hair.
"Come on baby. We need to get you to the doctor." I said picking Brea up out of her bed, and wrapping a blanket around her.
I carried her downstairs and got her in the car. She laid down across the backseat and rested her head on Courtney's leg.
"Is Phoenix coming?" I asked.
"Yeah, there he is." She said.
As soon as he got in the car we left.
It seemed like an eternity until we got to the ER. When we got there Phoenix helped Courtney get Breanna inside then I parked the car.
By the time I got inside it was only Phoenix waiting in the lobby.
"Did they already go back?"
"Yeah. As soon as mom explained what was happening they took her straight back." He said and then lowered his head into his hands.
"Ok then."
After setting in silence for a while Phoenix looked up at me.
"Dad, is she gonna be ok?" He asked. I saw the worry in his eyes.
"I don't know. All we can do is hope and pray." I said.
He laid down on the three chairs next to him. I rubbed his shoulder until he fell asleep. I would try to sleep myself, but I knew I wouldn't, I was too worried, too anxious.

Hey guys! It feels like it's been FOREVER since I updated, and it has. Life has been a bit busy recently and when I wasn't busy I was being lazy so that's why it has taken me forever. I'm so sorry about not updating and for the sad chapter. This story has only a few chapters left, and just to warn you: they will be sad. However, I'll be sure to end it with a happy chapter!
