When Hamasaki Aya told me she didn't tell anyone about me, I believed her. There was no second thought. Yet when she asked why I hated her, my beast fought for its freedom. It almost tore my façade away yet it was saved by Hamasaki Aya herself.
Her voice pulled me out of my own darkness, it was new to me. It was annoyingly... fascinating. My beast was annoyed because of that, but I was fascinated. How could a fragile human being push off a monster with just her voice? She intrigued me more and more.
"Would someone play a piece today?" Tego Mizushima asked the whole class. He turned around from his table and roamed his eyes when no one answered. "Any volunteer?"
I looked out of the window. I had no interest with his and this music shit. We were in this room for almost half hour now and I could not wait to get out. Hamasaki Aya was at the other side of the room. She was ignoring me since this morning.
Maybe I scared her off when my beast told her I desire her. If that so... then it would be her greatest decision. She should steer clear from me. And I, her.
"Ah! Ms. Hamasaki..." Tego smiled brightly at her. "For this class, please play a wonderful piece."
Hamasaki Aya looked hesitant for a moment but she stood up and walked to the grand piano. She sat down the bench and laid her hand gently on the keys and said, "Adagio."
Her fingers moved slowly and the whole room was then bathed in a soft slow calming tune.
I focused my attention to her. It was enchanting to watch her behind the piano as she makes these wonderful sounds. Her eyes were close. I wonder what she was thinking at the moment. What was her reason why she picked this song. She played beautifully.
Everyone clapped their hands when the piece ended. I would have if I weren't too captivated staring at her. Hamasaki Aya bowed down politely to her audience and walked her way back to her seat.
"That was a marvelous piece, Ms. Hamasaki." Mizushima praised, grinning widely. "Because of that, I'll let you choose who you want to be paired with for our project."
Tego Mizushima told us about that project earlier. We are to perform in pair for the music club's anniversary this coming month. I didn't listen to the other details, that shit wasn't important. I wouldn't participate anyway.
I was interested on who will Hamasaki Aya choose, that person must be close to her. But from the first day that I was here, I only saw her talk with the blonde duck and the class's president. She might choose the president. She seemed close to him. This trail of thoughts was kicked out of me when I heard her say my name.
"Matsumoto Ruki."
What the fuck?
I whipped my head and glared at her but she was looking at the floor.
"Matsumoto? This will be very interesting." Tego Mizushima sang song as he wrote something down on his paper.
I didn't stop glowering at her. She sat down her seat with her head still bowing down.
What the hell is she thinking? Is she doing this on purpose? To torture me? What the fuck is wrong with her?
Tego then kept on talking about the other pairs, his words were coming from a distance. I was swirling in thoughts of being with Hamasaki Aya for more than what I was already dealing. Added tormenting hours. I couldn't let that happen.
When the bell rang, I hurriedly went out of the Music's room, bumping students who were on the way with no plan on apologizing to anyone.
"Who pissed you off, brother?" Byo was suddenly on my side, putting his arm over my shoulders.
