Chapter 4- Friendship?

" what? You're stalking me now? "

" ugh, no superstar, no one is stalking you. And if you, haven't noticed my bags on the floor, you would have realized that I am selling something. So would you like to buy a brownie? half the funds go to charity and the other half goes to my club and about the charities.... We are giving it to".. This girl went on and on.

She talks...not more than gamer kid, but enough for me to notice that it is quite an amount. I had to cut it down.

" just please keep quiet already. Look, I understand you're trying to sell brownies, but for now, I am not interested. So No, thank you. "

I thought she would be surprised at my reply. But she just smiled and said " alright alright.. Easy there. I guess I'll seeya around school" .

" yea, seeya. " . Hope not. I Closed the door and turned around to see my brother leaning against the wall expecting me to explain something I assume. He has got that smile on his face with his eyes squinting at me.

" what??" I said knowing what was coming next.

" so who is that? A girlfriend? Already? ". Here we go again.

" come on AJ, you know what happened before and you know that I am not ready for all of that all over again." I said, making my way up to my room.

" how about no bro? Give her a chance would you? " he said trailing me into my room.

" a chance to buy brownies? You do know she was here to sell brownies right? "

He actually thought she was here to talk to me. The absurd thinking of this boy has got to stop. An innocent hopeless romantic. We all have been there, at least once. Most have lost either the innocence or the romance. Either way, we have been put out of place involuntarily and adapted to it. I adapted to it.

Still halfway through the evening, and two hours left to dinner and the family chat session that I am " looking forward" to.

Maybe I should go for a run? Helps me keep a clear mind. After searching through few boxes I got to my running shoes. A pair of black Adidas. Had it for two years already, and still going strong.

Note to self : next running shoes should be the same pair. As they last longer than other brands i tried.

I had to plan the route, a little check on the google maps on my laptop should do it. I decided to run a reasonable 10 kilometers. A simple square route planned out and I should be back in no time. Planning is key, no matter what the event.

Halfway through the run and I began noticing how quiet my neighborhood was. This I can get used to. With every step I took, I heard the rustling of leaves in the wind, felt the pulse that kept me going, along with the occasional chirps of birds and my thoughts which been at bay. A silent run also helps the occupied mind.

I made the last turn around the corner which led straight to my house. I spotted my dad's Chevrolet parked at the side of the road. He's back.....oh well...

Not a big fan of large cars, but I preferred the American muscle cars, they had character and in neutral colors they had class.

After I got home, I took a shower and prepared for dinner. I sat at the table silently after finishing my meal unsure what to talk about. There was so much anger and frustration the last time we spoke about my Aunt. My dad was the first to walk off.

" well he did contribute a real lot". I said with a pinch of sarcasm.

"Ryan! have some respect. He is the reason why he have food on the table." said my mom with a look of shock which then turned to sorrow.
