Megan pov

I hear a muffled voice in the background that awakens me from my sleep. I wake up rubbing my eyes to see who was the one talking. My vision started blurry but eventually gained focus and there was a woman in standing infront of me wearing a look of concern on her face. She was still talking to me but I couldn't focus. Just too damn tired.

" hey are you okay?".. She said with a little smile. I looked around notice I must have fallen asleep on the couch next to Ryan

" yea I am but" I suppressed my yawn. What kind of a first impression that would give? " sorry who are you".

" I'm summer" she said. " here I got you this" and he handed me a sandwich and some orange juice. Maybe she heard my stomach grumbling.

" well I'm on duty now and I think you're shift is over" she said with a smile. Which I admit looks pretty on her.

" you should go home and get some rest".

As much as I would like to stay and wake Ryan up, I don't think I can stay awake any longer. I haven't showered in a day. And i feel so weak. It was a bad idea to skip my meals.

" how's he doing ?" I asked glancing at Ryan.

" he is okay, but he might need some time to recover. Just hope that he responds to the treatment." But why am I talking to this lady whom I didn't even know. She might be a psycho killer like how they show it on tv.

" I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but how do you know Ryan? ".

" he's not much of a talker is he?" She said while crossing her arms and facing him, a sign of worry clear on her face " I'm his aunt dear. We used to live under the same roof. We're actually pretty close. So how do you know him? "

"we're friends". And I see an eyebrow raised. "why what's wrong?"

" oh its nothing" she says while fiddling with her hands. Well this lady can't really keep a secret. "what's the matter?"

She looks down and takes a long pause. "well you see, Ryan is not really fond of people after something back at our previous place sort of ummm...lets say, changed him. And a part of him just sort of disappeared after that. He wasn't normal for months. But as time passed, he sort of just returned to a less expressive version of him. So don't expect him to show what he feels".

Now that I think of it, yes...I've never heard an opinion from him. It's always what it is. Even in class he was the hardest to talk to. Not that I was scared to talk to him, its just that he had an uneasy aura around him that makes you think he's secretly judging you. But who knows what he thinks? Hell I don't even know.

" I think I better get going." I rubbed my eyes while I grabbed my bag. "Keep a close eye on him alright". After all he's the only one who can help me with the creepy letter sending lunatic.

"oh trust me honey, I always have". She says with a warm smile while showing me the way out.

As I turned on the ignition I took a deep breath to just lay back and relax to some local radio, to take a reality check. So the only thing I know now about Ryan is that he has an aunt, which means the hallucinations have stopped? Or have they? So where are the rest of his family? Ugh dammit. Need to stop over thinking.I hear a buzz and instinctively look at my bag. There can be only two possible people who send me messages, my mom or Lea(my best friend who loves travel and dropped out of school). I unlock the phone to see two messages from my mom.

-Maggie where have you been?
