"Sorry about that... they get real weird sometimes." Zeke says as we walk down the street. We had left Zeke's 'secret hideout' as well as his two strange friends and are now slowly walking home.

"Only sometimes?" I ask.

"Well most of the time." He kicks a rock and watches as it skids along the sidewalk.

"Who's Fly?" I say as I kick the rock. I look up at him only to see his eyes glazed. He must be thinking about something hard.

"What?" He looks up confused. I wonder what he was thinking about.

"Your friends back there they mentioned a girl named Fly? is that her real name?" I elaborate.

"Oh ha her real name is Casey but when we were little the only thing she'd answer to was dragonfly. She's a little obsessed with them. When she turned ten she went through this faze of being a tomboy and said the name dragonfly was too girly but calling her by her real name was just to weird so we settled for fly." He kicks the rock again but this time it falls onto the road. We keep walking and leave it behind.

"That's so cute." I smile.

"If she heard you say that she's probably headbutt you." he laughs but stops when he sees my reaction. "Oh i'm sure she wouldn't actually headbutt you she would just tell you she would." He reassures.

Once we reached home both his sisters came charging out. "You stole my curling iron again! where is it?!" Alira said throttling Zeke from the shoulders.

"And you filled my hair dryer with baby powder? why are you such a child. I'm making YOU clean up the mess." Alaina said dragging him up the drive way and into the house with a very angry Alira close behind.

Mums reading a book in the lounge room when I walk in, she glances up and smiles. "So um mum how come you didn't ask why Zeke was in my room this morning?" I ask sitting down on the floor infront of her.

"Well I mean it's not like your going do anything and I mean I'd hear you screaming if that kid ever even tried to touch you." she answers me but her eyes never leave the book.

"Yeah true" I sigh leaning down on the floor. The roof is plain and white with one main light. It would look rather nice if it were painted the colours of the sea or perhaps the solar system.

"Do you trust him" Mum puts down her book tilting her head.

"I mean I don't not trust him" I hum.

"I don't like when you do that" she laughs shaking her head.

I sit up and smile. "Sorry."

"No you're not" She gets up and walks to the kitchen sticking her head in the fridge.

"You know me too well" I sit up now to get a better look to see what she's doing.

"So how was it" She mumble then turns around with some carrots. She starts to comes back and forth with the ingredients for lunch. I didn't realise it was that late.

"Kinda weird" I reply. I debate about getting up and going over there so we don't have to raise our voices but me feet hurt. Zeke's hideout was further away than K would have expected but I guess he would want to be as far away from his sisters as he could be.

"The town or Zeke" She questions.

"Zeke" I decide to just go over and sit at the bench across from her.

"How so?" She hands me a breadboard, a knife and cucumber and then starts chopping the carrots up.

"Went to Zeke's secret hideout. Meet his weird friends. Just weird." I reply. I take a bite of the cucumber instead of chopping it up.

"I thought you liked weird." She squints her eyes at me once she sees what i've done to the cucumber, without saying a word she swiftly gets another one out of the fridge. She keeps this one.

"I do. But I don't know. Maybe I don't fit in with them. There vibes are different."

"Don't go all hipster on me now" she says raising a brow and pointing her knife at me. I put my hands up in a mock surrender.

"I meet some of his friends. Very weird. Kinda cute."

"What a shame the cuteness doesn't our rank the weirdness." She laughs.

"Yeah and he also told me about this other friend of his... her name is Fly." I say as mum puts both the carrot and the cucumber sticks in a bowl.

"Nickname or real name?" she says absently.

"Nickname." I nod.

After lunch I went up to my room and started sketching when I heard someone climbing through my window. Again.

"Come to take me on another tour so soon" I ask.

"Not this time" Zeke laughs. He falls to the ground with a soft thud.

"Then what?"

"Just thought we could hang out" he stands up and dusts himself off just like this morning.

"We hung out this morning. Isn't that enough for one day." I laugh.

"I'm feeling kinda rejected." he says cradling his heart. He mocks sadness.

"Good. Because that's what I'm doing." I say bluntly and then add a smile.

"Not even five minutes" he whines making me laugh again.

"What are we going to talks about for five minutes?"

"Your eyes" he shrugs.

"My eyes?" I say with confusion. Why would anyone want to talk about my eyes. Let alone for five minutes.

"Yeah they're pretty" he starts looking around my room.

"You are" I snort back

"You don't need to tell me sweetheart I already know I'm gorgeous" Zeke stops and winks.

"It was sarcasm. And call me sweetheart again and you'll never see your eyebrows again." I threaten.

His eyes open with surprise before he shrugs it off with a fake laugh. He thinks I'm being serious.

"Alright alright. I just wanted to invite you out to ice cream with me and my friends tomorrow. It's a quiet place and usually only has us in it." He offers. It's sweet he take into account that crowds would make me uneasy.

"That would be nice. Thanks for the invite." I accept.

"Now can we hang out. I need a place to hide from my sisters again."

"Thanks for the invite now get out." I say laughing.  He shrugs smiling.

"Ugh guess we'll just have to hang out tomorrow! mind if I take the window?" he say but doesn't wait for an answer before sticking his head half out.

"Be my guest." I smile.
