Andreson
Today was good. I bumped into Mary after school and she invited me to go with her to get Isa's jacket made for her birthday. Afterwards, her, Tony, and I hung out with the rest of the crew, excluding Rebecca.
I knew my pops was going to be mad that I was late, but life goes on. Anyways, I arrived home and Moms was in the kitchen cleaning up.
"Hello Andreson." She said.
"Hey." I said. "Where's dad?"
"He's been gone all day." She shrugged. "It's four o'clock, where have you been?"
"I was hanging out with Tony, Mary, Justin, Ace, Rosa and Emma." I said.
"That's good, honey." She smiled. "Do you have any homework?"
"No."
"I'm very proud of you, Andreson." She said. "You have good grades, and you're a good child."
"I guess."
"Why do you say that?" She asked. "Is it cause your father?"
"He doesn't care about me, so I don't care about him." I shrugged.
"Andreson, your father does care about you." She said. "He just wants you to be successful. He's worried about the decisions you make."
"If you're so proud of me, how come he's not?" I asked. "It doesn't matter what I do, he's never satisfied with what I do."
"Just keep doing what you do." She smiled. "If you feel like nobody is satisfied, I am."
And that's how I started to feel a little ounce of care for my moms. I realized that she was always on my side when my pops was acting like an asshole.
And she was always proud of me.
"Thanks... Mom." I said.
"Welcome." She smiled.
"Well, I'm going to go upstairs."
She smiled and I left her I the kitchen. I walked upstairs and into my bedroom.
I went into my closet and picked out a black polo shirt, some black slacks and my black shoes. Afterwards, I jumped in the shower.
After my thirty minute shower, I got out and dried off. I put on my clothes, slicked my hair back and walked into my bedroom. I vacuumed the floor, made my bed, rearranged my closet, and cleaned up the bathroom.
I heard the front door open downstairs and I knew it was my pops. I grabbed one of my text books and sat down at my desk. I opened the book when I heard him coming upstairs and pretended that I was studying.
He opened the door and I looked over at him.
"Hey, dad." I said.
He closed the door and folded his arms.
"I'm impressed with your changes lately." He nodded.
"Good, I guess."
"I talked to your friend today, and I approve of your little relationship or friendship." He said. "Whatever you kids call it."
"Thanks dad." I smiled.
"Dinner will be ready soon."
He walked out of the room and I closed my text book. I was so happy he was finally letting me be friends with Isamariá. Even if he still didn't approve, I still wouldn't care. So, this didn't make much of a difference.
