Celebrating Christmas as a Kid: Luke

Most times Luke can remember the best Christmas and that happened to be when Luke was eight years old. That was the last time that they celebrated Christmas as family celebration. Luke had the luxury of getting everything he dreamed of. That was when Jack, Ben and Luke all got along even though Jack thought of Luke as slight annoying. Luke rushed to Jack and Ben's rooms jumping on both of their beds. "Luke, what are you doing" Jack tried to pull his covers over his head. "Come on, it's Christmas and Ben's already up. Mom and Dad is downstairs with breakfast" Luke said to Jack and Jack sighed and pulled his covers off and rushed to the bathroom after he was done in the bathroom. Luke pulled Jack down the stairs. "Dad, this smells great" Jack stated but Ben had already dug into the pancakes and bacon and eggs and even waffles. When Mr. and Mrs. Hemmings cook, they make a lot for the whole town. Luke sat at the table eating breakfast. "Mommy are we going to watch the parade and open the presents" Luke asked his parents with food in his mouth. "Luke gross don't talk with food in your mouth" Jack complained. "Honey, you know we will. It's a part of our tradition" Liz kissed her youngest son on the forehead. This was the amazing part of Christmas. Little Lucas loved watching a Christmas parade and opening presents. This was the one day out of year that everybody would get together and eat and be nice and especially Liz and Andrew. Liz and Andrew busy all throughout the year working on starting their business but they always took time especially during the holiday seasons so they could be their for their kids. They swore that they would never get a nanny to take care of Luke, Ben and Jack. Luke was just staring at the TV watching the disney parades while he opened the presents. Ben, Luke and Jack took a picture together. 

 Luke was now eleven years old. He groaned while getting out of bed while he was walking to the bathroom, he bumped into his brother Jack. "Hey, watch where you are going loser" Jack sneered at his brother and Luke rolled his eyes. He went into the bathroom and brushed his teeth. He walked downstairs to see Ben in the kitchen cooking breakfast. "Hey Luke how was your sleep" Ben asked Luke and Luke just smiled at him. "Good so mom and dad away at work" Luke asked Ben and Ben just nodded. "Are they ever actually going to come home for Christmas break for once" Luke pouted and Ben felt bad for his younger brother. "Oh, come on Lukeypoo grow some balls and plus no parents equals us being the coolest person ever" Jack said taking food out of Luke's plate. "Ignore him" Ben said to Luke and Luke just rolled his eyes and went to the living room to watch Disney's parks parade that was on for years. Jack took the remote and changed it to watch sports and Luke just shook his head and stormed back into his room. Ben handed Luke his present and left Luke to all of the thoughts in his head. Luke looked around his room. It was filled with punk rock bands and full of gifts whenever his parents couldn't be there. Ben would always try to fill in his father's role but Luke was sad and it showed whenever he didn't want to eat.  The nanny name Emily tried to take the place of his mom but Luke couldn't dare to. He was made of for trying to keep this family's tradition.  

Luke is now 14 years old now.  His sense of normalcy is gone at this point. Emily is gone, his family is never there, he has no friends and he doesn't like who he became. Another thing is that his parents loved to torture Luke by making him move again during the holidays. He moved again to a new place with a pool this time because apparently Jack needed a pool. He lost all sense of the meaning of Christmas. He couldn't stand Christmas as a holiday.  Jack and him were arguing all the time regardless of what day of the year was. His room is still the same but now he took up drawing as a hobby. Ben said that he was really great but now he would never utter a word anymore. Ben knocked on Luke's bedroom door and went inside of the bedroom without Luke's permission. Ben handed Luke his present and Luke handed his present to Ben. Luke hugged Ben because got him the most wonderful  sketchbook which meant everything to him compared to the watches, the expensive pieces of artwork.  Ben left Luke's room once more leaving Luke to his thoughts like he did when he was eleven once more.
