The Ultimate Summer: The sequel to the Ultimate Senior Year Plan

It had been months since Cal's death. I mean I've been keeping contact with Mike and he seemed to be doing well. He decided to go to university but he hasn't removed the wedding ring off his hand and I don't he will ever to be honest. It still shocking to me that Cal was gone and that I wouldn't see his cheesy smile or his stupid jokes he made that was so cheesy that it actually made you laugh at all. I was beyond nervous to see Ash again, the last time I had saw Ash was during the rehearsals of the wedding and I was far from looking forward once again. He was dating this guy named Jeff but something about Jeff rubbed me off. What Ash do with his life is no longer any of my business at all. I'm not friends with Ash and I'm not his boyfriend anymore that title goes to Jeff actually. I don't like Jeff just because he's dating Ash it just the way he speaks to Ash is stupid and ridiculous but Ash was always smart so I'm going to mind my business. I heard a knock on my bedroom door and I opened it to see Ben with a beaming smile on his face. He leaned against my desk while looking at my drawings. "This is for the gallery" Ben asked me and I shook my head. "Actually that was supposed to be a surprise for you and Mandy." I snatched the drawing away from Ben and Ben just clapped his hand on my shoulder. "I'm so glad you are my best man." Ben commented and I just smiled at him. "You are all grown up, never thought i would see the day of my younger brother being taller than me." Ben rubbed my hair once again. "Look Luke, I know you and Ash can't get along and i don't understand what happened now to cause you to argue nonstop considering you guys were getting along at Cal's funeral." Ben stated to me and I sighed. "You know he's dating someone and not to mention the fact that our breakup wasn't even that long ago. I think I deserve to be upset don't you." I exclaimed to Ben and Ben sighed while rubbing the back his neck. "Well you better get over it because Ash is bringing that somebody to the wedding and not to mention, Ash is Mandy's brother and her maid of honor. I love you Luke but if you and Ash cannot get along then you both are excluded from our wedding. I am not saying that to be rude and I am not trying to kick you out of the wedding but it's Mandy's day and i want her to be happy and relaxed and not worry about our families not getting along at all." Ben ranted to me before slamming my bedroom door and I sighed a bit. My phone was ringing and I answered it. It was Mike. "Hey dude what's up." I asked him. "Oh nothing just about to be bored to death. I swear I thought college was supposed to be fun but here I am having to write a ten page essay." Mike complained. I was happy that Mike was returning to his old self. It was nice to see him joking around and just having a good time in general. He actually deserved to be happy. I know Cal would want him to be happy too. "Oh stop complaining."  "You don't understand you're in art school, you don't have to write papers or something." Mike continued to complain and i rolled my eyes. "Oh shut up Mike, I actually have to construct three different projects and they all due in two weeks." I retorted back to Mike and Mike just sighed. "I got to go, Ash is calling me." Mike said to me and I sighed. "Just because you guys aren't friends doesn't mean I am going to pick side between you two because honestly, I like you guys both. Luke don't make me pick sides at all." Mike spoke before hanging up the phone and I just sighed. I didn't need to be stressed so I decided to take around town grabbing some coffee when I accidentally bumped into a guy with a deep blues, he had facial hair and he had a nice jawline. It was chiseled and it looked like he worked out. I could see his abs poking out of his shirt. "I'm sorry about the coffee spilling on your top." He apologized to me. "It's fine, I hated this top actually." I commented while he handed me napkins. "I'm Theo." "I'm Luke." I gave him a smile. "How about you let me buy another coffee?" Theo suggested and I shook my head at him. "Are you asking me out?" I commented to him. "Depends on if you are going to say yes and save me the embarrassment." Theo nudged me and I just bit my lip. "Yeah I would love to go out with you Theo but try not to be clumsy again." I stated to him and I was about to walk away when Theo called my name. I turned around. "You didn't get my number." Theo mentioned to me and I just gave his name before walking back home. I just smiled to myself as I entered my house that somehow Ben decided to live me to make sure i wasn't totally heartbroken over Ash. I was hurt and angry months ago when Ash and I broke up. I thought we were going to be one of those couples that last forever but jokes were on us. He was going to stay in California and I was moving to New York. Long distance was never going to work ever but Ash gets to move on so I get to move on too. He can't judge me from moving on when he moved on quicker than I did. Am I being petty? Maybe do I care? Nope not at all. 

I went on the date with Theo and I realized he is the exact opposite of Ash. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing but oh well. I'll know one of these days.
